2015 October Feisties - Are you having knee surgery in October?

Chemical stress test completed. More nervous than I should of been, was not a big deal at all. Was able to see report online that night. No changes since stress test from 4 years ago pre op for breast reduction. No official word from surgeon yet but assume we are on for 10/28 since no changes at all!

Sorry a few of you had delays/changes in your surgery dates. The waiting is a killer. I am amazed that you got new dates in the same month. I don't think that would happen with my surgeon. Right now he is booking for February!

@cowchick ...I have my RTKR on Monday too...I hope ALL goes well for you....

As for me...I'm scared, nervous, anxious and alone... I have this big family...BuT no one seems to want to take time out of their schedules to help me with anything or even just help me NoT be so scared...I've NEVER had a major surgery before AND I DON'T do well with anesthesia... I'm NoT exactly sure where I'll be going after surgery...
inpatient rehab...I think...but don't know where...to anxious to get anything done at home...and just scared I'm NoT going to have a good recovery...I'm someone who loves to run and workout and play volleyball and horseback ride and iceskate and pretty much anything active...along with I have two beautiful grandbabies...my granddaughter is three and my grandson is one...and I love to run around with them and play...I JuSt don't know how to be...can't sleep, can't concentrate...and Monday the 12th is fast approaching...I'm first up for the day...check in at 5:15AM and surgery at 7:30AM...trying to just have the mindset of...JUST DO IT...regardless of all this other nonsense...BuT it's hard...especially the closer it gets...I JuSt want to run and hide...

Tomorrow's finally here...RTKR and only 47 years young...I'm doing my best to stay positive...BuT I am getting nervous and anxious again...I'm just hoping that since it's going to be 84°and sunny in Minneapolis today that will help my mood... I hope, I hope...

I have the jitters too, @RieRie. My surgery is on Tuesday, so we'll have lots to chat about in the coming weeks. I wish I had done my knees at 47, it would have saved me a lot of pain and aggravation.

Glad you have such nice weather! I'll be thinking of you and sending warm wishes for an easy surgery and recovery.

Definitely understand the jitters @RieRie. Just think, your surgeon is rested and fresh from the weekend and ready for you! Minneapolis will actually be warmer than here in Florida, we will be at 78 degrees. Wish I had my knees done at 47, I have missed out on so much.

@RieRie , are any of your friends or family able to wait with you in pre-op tomorrow morning? It made a big difference that my daughter was there to hold my hand. Best Wishes on your surgery- you're going to do great!

 

[OHIOGAL]

I heading to the hospital tomorrow (10/13) morning for my 2nd knee replacement. 1 1/2 years ago I had my left knee done, tomorrow the right! Knowing what's going to happen has it pluses and minuses.
I'm pretty nervous, but hopefully, it will go as smoothly as the first one and I'll be back to work by Thanksgiving.
