@wwadeson I had surgery the day before you so we are about the same point in recovery. I still have trouble reaching my feet and need assistive devices to put on socks and shoes, but can walk and do most other things ok. Am still taking pain meds (norco) 1 in the am and 1 pm since I am still...
I think its easy to over do it when you start feeling better since you want to do more. The difference is that a day or two of rest and you feel better. Before surgery, the pain ever really went away.
I just had an 8 week follow up with my surgeon and he told me that I will probably be back for my other hip within 1 1/2 years. I know I won't let it get as bad as my first one now that I know what to expect.
@Carriemay60 I would have preferred a much faster recovery since I dont really have a lot of patience, but my hip made it slow and steady. I guess we really don’t have much choice.
I haven't updated my thread in a while, and thought it was about time since Monday will be a full 8 weeks since my surgery. Decided to change my thread title and I think it reflects my recovery....it has not been a fast recovery, but I really have improved dramatically over 8 weeks. I never felt...
I had night sweats pretty bad but also ran a low grade fever off and on. Found out at 3.5 weeks that I had a urinary tract infection. 5 days on antibiotics and it seems to have cleared up.
I am 5 weeks out from surgery and still have a lot of tightness and weakness I my knee and bending or lifting it for stairs causes pretty strong pain. My swelling has gone down considerably, maybe even backto normal.
@KingsCynHiker I felt the same way about needing to be doing more, but after a coule weeks I realized you need to listen to your body since it really controls how fast you recover. I definitnely feel I should be further along but my body just doesn agree. My pt said I am further than most but I...
I just got back from pt (started2 wks ago). Happily tthe office I go to seems to follow the idea that pt should not cause pain and stop me if I seem to be in pain. Overall I don't find it painful but I want a nap when its done. Then im good to go again.
I'm 4 weeks post op and still have issues sleeping. It has been better than the first 2 weeks but i still wake up at least 2 or 3 times and have a hard time getting comfortable again. I tried sleeping on my side some but its still not really comfortable.
