OH yea, we all become our own enemy at some point. When I created pain from doing something dumb, I went back to bed, elevated and iced until things felt better :)

This is a xray of my shiny new fight hip. My doctors appointment went well. I start pt next week. My next appointment with my OS is in 6 weeks. My OS is thinking that in 8 weeks from now we will possibly do a thr on the left side. I also found out that part of my right hip has degenerated. After he pointed it out I was shocked. Look at the right just above my new hip and compare it to the left big difference.

Wow what a rough night. I think with the anticipation of going home today (had been staying with parents) and just flat out being sick of sleeping on my back. I was never told how long I needed to sleep on my back. What were all of you told? I also hate not being able to do anything at this point. I feel better than I have in a very long time. I just well I don't know. . Awwww I'm just so frustrated. I want to slow down on the pain medication but you see I can go most of the day right now without any and can put up with the pain through out the day, but when it gets to the point that I take it it takes me hours to get the pain under control. I start pt next week so I'm sure I will need to take it all day and ice a lot. Sorry for the rant I just needed to vent some. Thanks for letting me blow off some steam[emoji189].

and take your pain meds by the clock [Bonesmart.org] RTHR
- if it hurts, don't do it and don't allow anyone - especially a physiotherapist - to do it to you
- if your leg swells more or gets stiffer in the 24 hours after doing it, don't do it again
- if you won't die if it's not done, don't do it
- never stand when you can sit, never sit when you can lie down, never stay awake when you can go to sleep!
- be active as much as you need to be but not more than is necessary, meaning so much that you end up being in pain, exhausted or desperate to sit down or lay down!

@bottomshollow I pretty much have this memorized. Just working out where the line is between good and bad on all of them.

I wish I could just either sleep or walk the entire time. They are the times I feel the best out of all the meds, positions, and icepacks. In a few months this can happen.

Well it was 21 days yesterday post op. Sleeping at night has been miserable. Went and tried out new mattress yesterday and got a new one and new pillows. Can't wait for it to arrive as it won't be delivered till Friday morning. My OS said that I could sleep on my operated side as long as I'm convertible. So I spent a good amount of time laying on my side at the store and found one that will work.

@rbtaylor, smart guy buying new bedding! We bought a new set for our coast home around Christmas last year. Makes a world of difference.

I hope so as well. I did find a bed setup that was out of this world. It raised your head and feet did a bunch of other things and even had a massage feature. The price is what kept me from buying it since I'm not working and money is non existent right now. I think that the price was over $3000.00 dollars.

That price tag is high but I would just about kill for a bed like that - especially at the moment. 4:30 am here and only broken sleep so far again tonight :(

I start pt tomorrow. I'm a little bit nervous about it. Hopefully it won't hurt much.

I just got back from pt (started2 wks ago). Happily tthe office I go to seems to follow the idea that pt should not cause pain and stop me if I seem to be in pain. Overall I don't find it painful but I want a nap when its done. Then im good to go again.

I had my first pt today and it wasn't bad at all. I did come home and take a nap. My legs are very tired and a little sore but not bad. Going to be doing pt 3 times a week now.

Pt is getting easier now, but I still have a long ways to go. In my mind I'm not progressing as fast as I thought I would. Walking is very tiring and have pain in the front of my thigh down to the back of my lower leg. I still can't lift my leg up in the air while laying on my back.

Yesterday I posted about my leg hurting, well today as I was getting up from the toilet I felt and heard catching and popping and pain in my operated hip. I can walk on it with no problem except for the pain. What could have been the catching and popping?
