TKR Yorkimom is ready to go...LTKR

Thanks everyone for your comments. Today when I went to PT I didn't mention about the icing to Christine. While at PT I was having pain in the back of my leg when I would do my exercises. Both Cheistine and I think that it is the muscles, but I also wonder if it is the Baker's cyst that I have back there. Anyway when she had me do the exercise laying on my stomach on the table with my legs hanging off, she put a warm. Impress on the back of my knee. Even though the exercise is challenging st times, it felt so darn good. She told me to try the heating pad on the back of my knee. I'm sitting right now with ice on the front and the heating pad on the back. It feels so good. But boy is the back do my leg painful today. Hopefully it will not last.
Today it has been in the 60's which is a big contrast to the past week with temps in the low 30's and high winds. I know the low temps have been the reason for my knee being so stiff and bothering me. I was hoping with the hire temps today it would go away, but no luck.

@Yorkimom i had an appt. with the PA today and told him I'm still taking 1-2 Norco at night and usually one during the day after my driving duties are over. He was fine with that and wrote me another Rx. He also asked me to go in for labs- he thinks maybe my fatigue is due to a low Vit D level. I guess I'll find out after the holidays!

@gr82cu2, no problem Janet. I think we all have been having problems with our alerts.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My parents and my daughter, Jodi, and her family came for the day. It was a very busy, fun day and today my knee is not happy. I'm planning on putting on decorations so I'll work a little, then ice, rest and elevate throughout the day.
Here is a picture of four generations......granddaughter Bry, daughter Jodi, granddaughter Amber, Mom and me

What a beautiful generational picture, Anne. Such lovely ladies, all of you. I'm not even considering putting up Christmas decorations this year. I have one very small table top tree that I may have Kent go down to the basement and get out but that's it. Next year will be better :)

@madinana, @gr82cu2 , thanks. I am so lucky to have such a great family. The two girls are Jodi's stepdaughters, but we think of them as our own. Heck, they are ours!! Here is a picture of me, Jodi and the three kids You can see that Andrew looks just like his mother. And of course Jodi looks just like her father. It's eery we have a picture of my hubby Joe when he was around 6 and it looks like you are looking at Andrew. He not only got Joe's looks, but he got his or orneriness!!!

@Yorkimom

Anne, thank you for sharing your beautiful family photos and hope that you had a lovely family Thanksgiving. We don't have Thanksgiving Day in Ireland or England, so just a normal Thursday on this side of the Atlantic, but had a turkey salad sandwich for my lunch and thought of all my American BoneSmart friends and was thankful to know such wonderful and special people.

I've put an update about our trip to Vegas on my thread "Left TKR on 17 July"
Warning, when your family sees what you got up to and what your sisters got up to, they may not be smiling.

@gr82cu2, Jodi has a perm and her hair is very thick and has lots of body. I remember she got her first perm when she was in 10th grade and swore that she would never do it. With her hair being so thick it was just a mop of curls. She hated and had it straightened. I was really surprised when she got a perm this past year. For years she had a pixie cut and it looked adorable on her. Then a few years ago she grew it out. I'm still undecided which way I like it better. If I find a pic of her short I'll post it.
@madinana, @Minnie's knees, @marmora, thanks. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful family. I am hoping that this Christmas I can get a pic of Joe, me and all the kids. We only have one that was taken about four years ago.
Cathie, I'll have to go check out your thread to see what was going on.
Kathy, how are you feeling not being on the meds?????

I used to perm my hair years ago but when it started turning grey around the time I was 40 and I had to color it my perm days were over. You really can't do both without destroying your hair and I'd rather be colored than curly, haha!

@tiredwife, Hi Jackie! Yes, I'm doing good. Every day seems to be getting better. The weakness, low energy and labored breathing that I was experiencing several weeks ago is completely gone. I'm pretty much back to my normal activities, except for driving myself to PT since I still take pain meds before therapy. It feels so good to feel "almost normal" again. Thanks for asking.
