Hahaha, absolutely. Now l just need to walk on 1 crutch. No crutch.!! Still feels heavy. See consultant and physiotherapist on Tuesday, fingers crossed, hopefully at the very least. He will allow me to take off these horrible green compression socks and maybe try and sleep on my side. Please, please, please....
Green TEDS...
I really really did not like those things.
I hope he will say you can ditch them...I lost mine
I didn't have any restrictions on side sleeping but maybe because the doc knew I didn't have a side to sleep on comfortably anyhow.
It was quite awhile..
Seemed like forever!
Well my friends, another day and a new set of problems. It's been really good these last couple of days, until today. Hip really painful. Haven't done anything different apart from scrambling some eggs!!! The whole (small movement) thing seemed to really affect my hip as if it was moving adversely. Been really painful ever since. Seeing the consultant Tuesday but l just feel something is not quite right!! 6 weeks down the line and feel l am back to square 1, laying on bed and pain into knee and groin. l am totally fed up. Tried to be so optimistic for 6 weeks but l fear the worst.
Nearly 7 months since the accident, 4 months since screws backed out and femoral head collapsed. 6 weeks since new hip and pain feels just like it did with collapse. l'm scared....
I am so sorry you are so anxious about whether all is well with your hip.
These really are still early days but I certainly understand that you are worried and hopefully you will get some reassuring xrays. The soft tissue trauma really can take time to repair and you have had so much happen the last 7 months.
I shall be praying that your doctor visit goes well.
I'm sure you will be addressing all your concerns, including Lumpy...with your OS.
Josephine mentioned a bursa can flatten...so perhaps bursitis is the culprit.
There are a good many hippys who have had to deal with this after THR.
Try not to project before your appointment. We are rooting for you.
Thanks Mojo. It's a tough journey, isn't it? Like a rollercoaster ride. Highs and lows. We will see what tomorrow brings. Trying to be optimistic however. Many thanks for your messages, they really help.
I can imagine that since the pinning was unsuccessful that you would be super sensitive to possible "problems" with that hip!
Problem is...during my recovery...there were different niggles that popped up here and there and with no obvious cause that I could attribute it to.
Do give us an update...you can even upload copies of your xrays so we can admire your shiny new hip!
Wishing you a peaceful day...assume the position!
At the consultants today - 6week check, xrays etc. Just hoping that everything in order and what l have been experiencing is part and parcel of recovery. Please God, need a bit of good luck
Hi Mojo and other "hippies"....hip...just where it should be....x.rays ...perfect...just old scar tissue etc causing niggles....onwards and upwards and thanks for all your support...
Not a star, just a double hippy who made it out the other side...finally! Same questions, same worries, same support from some very lovely people.
By the by, I was a much bigger whiner than you have been without the added stressor of the lumpy friend who we will no longer mention.
Just paying it forward as the reassurance, advice, and support got me through some rough days.
You, too, will have your chance to pay it forward.
You are going to do great...patience is prescribed in large doses!
You're so right, will try to help out others now. Elf1, a lady who has followed me through, is having her new hip tomorrow. Good luck Ellen. I'm not there yet but watch this space t
The consultant said to me you can now drive, l said thank you very much, l couldn't before
