I have brought forward this month's list so that you can easily see who your surgical buddies are.

Welcome to our latest and all December Supernovas!

You are now an Honor Graduate
from your pre-op days! You've entered the recovery phase of your replacement journey to that place called “Normal”, and you are now eligible to be a
Recovery Club member.

Pre-op surgery team members are automatically recovery team members. If you were not on the pre-op list, please join your fellow travelers in this month’s post-op club by requesting your name and surgery date be added to the roster.

Being a team member will allow you to share your
questions, concerns, and experiences; give one another
support and encouragement;
vent, whine, and
shed some tears, if necessary; and have some
fun and laughs together. (Please do the above in one another’s recovery threads. And if you find your fun and laughs taking over an individual thread, toss them over to the Social Room to keep your recovery thread on target.)

Recovery is a long journey
made shorter and easier when made with
fellow travelers. So, start you membership in this special club today by requesting that your name and surgery date be added to the list!

Please add me to December club. I had a Right TKR on December 10, 2018. I am up against a wall trying to increase flexion (about 105) and extension (about 5-10). I have been pushing myself extremely hard with PT and on my own time. I push to a point of extreme pain to the point where tears have welled up. Please inform me with percentages of people who successfully increases ROM with a much more laid back approach. Thanks

If you have not already started your own recovery thread, what are you waiting for----there’s no time like the present. We want to share your journey with you so please start a thread of your own.To start a new thread, hover your mouse over "Knee" on the blue line at the top of the page for the drop down menu.Click on either the "Pre Op" forum. On the upper right hand side under the "Joint Replacement Awareness Day" banner, you will see a black rectangle with the words "Post New Thread" in white. Click on this, enter whatever title you want for your thread, but do try to keep it short and sweet, then tab down to the dialogue box and start typing your post which can be as long as you need for it to be.

We look forward to following you down that winding recovery road because WE CARE!

Please add me to the December list ~ I had my surgery on 10th December 2018
Here I am a December SuperNova as you say. My journey so far began as you all see 10th Dec 2018 ~ so called golfing experts said "you'll be amazing and back at golf in 6 weeks !!" well none of them had had a knee replacement had they !! However I tried to do the exercises given by the physios (hmmpf ! too painful) but then I found Bonesmart and their absolutely sensible commonsense approach to this journey as in the body is an amazing thing and will heal all by itself given time and patience. Walk & exercise if it feels ok if not give it a miss and just relax everything will begin to work when it's ready (which I found comes quickly when it is ready). Crutches for the first four weeks progressing to one then to a cane to feel safe when out and about. Walking around home without aids at six weeks with lots of icing, rests when the legs said "enough". The best thing that really brought me on "leaps & bounds" was swimming:swim: & walking in hydro pool (warm, lovely & no pain ~ bliss). The painkillers were absolutely needed for getting quality sleep so don't be afraid to use them ~ it's only for a few weeks (no you won't become addicted which is what I was afraid of). At the 3 months mark had my final check up with my surgeon who was amazed & pleased with my 125 degree bend and strong straight walking. After this report I finally hit the golf course again just walking four holes (about 1 kilometre) & then just last week using our club's rideon cart played the full 18 holes:yay: . My surgeon tells me I will continue to improve up until to the twelve months mark & maybe more. Sciatic pain is slowly going the more active I become & commonsense is that your body (skeleton) has to adjust to a straight line as compared to a 'wonky' stance which most of us have probably had for many years as our knee(s) deteriorate. Thank you Bonesmart I am so grateful to have found this sight & being able to read other people's stories of their journeys ~ how many times did I say "oh that's just like me so this is all normal what I am experiencing":loveshwr:
