Hi pjm,
At 1 month it's so easy to overdo, as you are starting to feel a little better, can get around with a cane, and maybe a little on your own. And you've had one month of books and TV. I see you have a right hip so you may not be driving yet. I could earlier because I was a left. It's a time where lots of people get overuse strains. I did, as did most of my Bonesmart partners. Resting is good, and you'll be back with the living, but I know it isn't easy.
Yes, this is my second hip. The first didn't integrate with my bone and was loose. Took the Dr's a long time to declare mine a failure, but I fired my first OS within the first year. The stem was malpositioned and wrong for my anatomy so it was surgeon error. I had an Anterior approach by an inexperienced surgeon - something you never want to do, as it's a technically challenging surgery. But the new hip is great, and I'm looking forward to riding bikes, hiking, kayaking and all the other things I haven't been able to do for 4 years.
Hang in there. You'll be amazed how much better you'll be in a few weeks.
