THR Trendynana's recovery thread

Thank you for your reply. I am feeling alone at the moment thatcevertine thinks I should have recovered fully at 12 weeks and everyone knows someone who had it fine and are now running around x

There have been many members who "felt" their recoveries were slow- many for the same reasons you mentioned.
@SurreyGirl is one who comes to mind that is now doing beautifully.
I dont think anyone who is 100 percent at 12 weeks, if they are honest.
Some recoveries are slower but still very successful.
Sorry this is causing you to be down...keep plugging along.

Hi @Trendynan . Things for me were ok-ish at 3 months after quite a rough start, but I was back at work on one crutch and set myself back a bit by overdoing the physio! I had some pretty hurtful passive-aggressive remarks at work which were hard to deal with and I put up with it by smiling and saying that the hip knew best. But I was determined to walk heel toe with a straight back and my new hip was not ready to do that without the crutch and eventually the Leki hiking stick which replaced it.

I saw a real turnaround about 5-6 months where I could physically do so much more. My hip is still healing even now but the stiffness and stutter steps have gone and I am walking normally for the first time in years.

it is your recovery and noone elses. Listen to what your body tells you and act accordingly :)

Hello @Trendynan
It takes a full year to recover. It's gradual and not everyone heals at the same rate. You're only three months in which isn't that long in the entire scheme of things. Most likely you'll have that implant for life and taking that into account, 12 weeks post op is very early on.

Please try to ignore the comments from ignorant people who don't understand. Don't let them get you down. Consider telling those offering unsolicited opinions that you remain in touch with your doctor and therapist who are not questioning your progress, so they need not worry about you.
Chin up, brighter days are on the way!

Keep the faith, my hippy pal.
Figure out what is helpful, what is not so much...perhaps pursue a physical therapist if you feel that there are things that are eluding you.
Just make sure it is a mindful PT that can help you diagnose potential answers to your deficiencies.
We are rooting for you.

Happy Three Month Anniversary!
I hope you're doing well this week. This recovery biz can take time but you're moving forward and you will get there slowly but surely.
Wishing you a great rest of the week!
@Trendynan

Hope you're feeling better @Trendynan ! Happy hipaversary!! :dancy: . Things do get better but I feel for you - you're at the 'im frustrated and tired of this' point. :tantrum2: Don't let comments from ignorant outsiders get you down. Take one week at a time. Relax and let your body tell you when it's ready for more, and especially when it's ready for a rest. Happy healing. There is more good stuff coming your way, promise!

So good to see that hip #1 is doing well. Sorry that number 2 now is complaining but two good hips are a great way to start a new decade.

You know we will be rooting for you.:loveshwr:
