MUA Tigz's Lessons in Patience

I survived! I was up and down at work most of the day, tried to do some stretching, and iced twice.

Not too tired when I left work, but the knee was stiff and achy. I iced and elevated and then did some stretching. Currently post dinner and I'm icing again.

Didn't sleep well last night despite the muscle relaxer. I meant to call to try to get some Tramadol, as Jamie suggested, but didn't have the time.

Tomorrow I have PT a bit after work. Double whammy!

Yay Julie!!!! So glad I had a moment to check in on you. First day is the hardest. First week for sure. You are doing great!

Well today I learned just how swollen I was yesterday. I got to PT and the PT, after looking at my knee, said "I'm going easy on you today". Sooo... if you want easy PT, go to work beforehand! And 15 minutes on the GameReady was bliss!

She told me to ice and elevate my evening away... so I'm following orders (for once).

Not so much tired, but *stiff* *stiff* *stiff* (and obviously swollen!).

Two down, two to go!

PT is so much better when I go at 7am, before work! I went today at 5pm and I was wiped before I even walked in!

@JennyLynne - that's hard with my current 0730 start time.. even harder with my usual start time of 0630! :D

Uh yeah, that's not an option. :(

Hope today went well at work just one more day and the weekend to rest, ice and elevate!

Pfft. I wish I could hang upside down and make this work related swelling go away. It's seriously impeding my ROM. Spending as much time as I can icing and elevating at home. At least am only doing a six hour work day.

Lab manager who came back to work after a TKR the day of my surgery asked me today how I was doing. I said coming along slowly, to which he replied my doctor tells me I need to slow down. He 's already been classified as an idiot to me, though. ;-)

We crossposted @KarriB :-)

Work-wise it wasn't a bad day (I've been somewhere different every day!), and it does make me forget about the knee until I realize just how stiff it is!

It's kind of nice, to forget about the knee for a few minutes, then it totally reminds you it's still there.

We've had a beautiful couple of days in Maryland. I'm the type that tends to arrive early to work and would normally take a walk outside before I have to go inside. All I want this week is to get from Point A to Point B. :-)

It's been gorgeous here in Pittsburgh, also. Temps in the 70s-80s and no humidity!

Elevate, no, ice, yes @bluejuju I've been icing for 15 minutes in the morning and close to 30 at lunch.

I've been a little more tired each night this week. Next week is a four day week with Wednesday off, the following week is a four day week with vacation starting Friday. A week off, then back to my normal eight hour days.

That sounds like a good schedule for next week. I'm on my 3rd week of short days and a 4 day week. So far so good. But like you I'm so stiff and ice and elevate at home. Have a wonderful Friday and hope your sleep gets better soon!
