TKR This time I am doing it right and having a blast

Boy time flies by. It's hard to belieive its been over 4 months that my knee has been done. My knees right now are hurting, Don't know if I am overdoing or its the weather. I do this I don't reget it at all. Now that I am having to work on my hip I am posting mostly on the hip. So if you like come on over to the hip section. Everyone take care and stay safe. Today I can tell the weather is changing. It feel good to have a bite in the air. My joints aren't too bad. Found that I have been sleeping a lot and a very deep sleep. I hope we get enough snow close so I can go up and see it without going to far to drive. This time last year I never expected to be this far. All I knew is I hurt and taking pain pills hopping that they would last longer than 4 hours. Having a little shoulder pain which is concering me greatly. Everytime I move it I feel something grinding and a sharp pain. And the fact the pain overrides the pain pills makes me jummp. When I look to getting older, I knew I would have ackes and pains but not falling apart at the seams. But it is what it is. At least you can sew those falling apart seams yourself:heehee: . Weather change got me last night too. Sorry to hear your shoulder is acting up, just use the Bonesmart mantra, rest, ice, elevate, and medicate as needed. Hope it is feeling better soon.
 
At sewing I got to just play. This next week I hope its rains a lot, eventhough I know I will hurt. I hope everyone gets to have some fun this weekend. Tashia
 
Today we really got lots of rain. Ended up staying home because of the weather. It wasn't a good decision because I feel down tonight. Didn't go to class. Really tired of same thing everyday stuff. Wish I had improved more than I have. I know I come far but right now is not far enough. I can do so many things, but its that last streight that is really tiring me .
I can get up without help and take a walk.
I can go to the bathroom without needing help
I can stand on one leg for a while.
I can go up stairs without help or holding on the rail.
As I said I can do a lot but its the last streach that is really slow and tiring.
 
I got to see the sewing machine I want. It was soooo neat. It just might have to come home with me. It so good to have something to look for. I just wish I had some Grand Chrildren so I could make more quilts for them. There are so many neat things to make for kids. I need to find some place I can take them and share my talents. I can just put it out there maybe something will happen. My new joints are doing great. It so good to have all of that done. Driving is so great, I need to get to it. Last night I realized that when I take my medicane I am un the influence to the degree I don't feel corfortable to drive. And with the police looking for drivers that aren't driving right, it not worth it. I say that but deep down I want it so. I just have to accept this is in my life right now. I keep writing because I need to make peace with it and I am having trouble with it. In all the places I've lived as a adult I love just to drive around to see whats out there. I love looking at decoration that people put out. I have more postive outlook than I did have last year at this time. Now I need to get my messages back and that does help so much. Tomarrow I have a acupunction appointment, I know it will help. Everyone please take care and make sure you take care of the Body, Mind and Spirit. Tashia

What machine do you have your eyes on? I am a sewer also and I love to see new machines that come out. Don't elly need another since I have 6 now but it never hurts to look.
 
karmigirl, It's the machine that does sewing, decorate stitches and embroidery. Wow what a machine. It sews plus lot of decorate stitches and embroidery for quilts, clothes, and tables. You name it, it can help you do it. What do you sew? I spend most of my time making quilts and pillow cases. When I make pillow cases for young kids, I like to decorate it so it will just be theres. My first sewing machine was given my deceased husband and I have to say its hard to beat for just sewing. It sews everything including leather. The only problem is it weights a lot because it old therefore its not plastic but metal and therefore heavy. I also do some felting. Its fun but it limited. It doesn't wash well so it works making pruses and decorative pictures.. We could start a section on sewing in the social section and talk about sewing if your interested. Anyone could join in. Just a thought, what do you think. Tashia

I sew clothes, crafts home decorating stuff etc, but I don't quilt. I have the singer Futura 250 which does the decorative stitches, regular sewing and embroidery s one of my machines. Sound fine to me about starting the social thread. I usually don't get to the social page often but would if we had a page.

Tashia, I love to use my sewing machine, but must admit to not having used it for a good few years. The last thing I made was a dress that my granddaughter needed for a school play. I had one day's notice! I popped into town during my lunch hour and bought a pattern and the material. I hand stitched it all that same night. Boy, that was some accomplishment for me! I was very pleased with the outcome, even if it was only worn for a couple of hours, never to be seen again :heehee:

I have to say, Tashia, that I much admire your positive spirits. Even though you have your down times, you are still such a great inspiration to the rest of us :flwrysmile:
 
Tashia Tashia when i first came on this site over a week ago i was so amazed at some of the stories. I like to read each persons from the begining to hear their story and also to pick up hints and things that may help me with my TKR. What i have learnt from your thread is things can change from day to day and you have to overcome problems deal with them and carry on. You are an inspiration. I admire your attitude so much and if i ever feel down i will go and read your story again to give me strength Your stories are so funny, sometimes sad but always uplifting. Thank you for sharing with us. :thankyou:
 
robynhood, Thank you so much for comment. I believe that we can learn from others to help ourselves and others. We all have our ups and downs and yes they do have to be deal with it. I see you have had a knee done. I hope all is well. I am so glad that you have started your journey of healing and getting your life back. Keep posting so we know how you are doing. Today has been a good day with little pain. I am hoping this is the new pattern. I also have no swelling to speak of. Take care. I did have a good day. My knees behaved and was able to do what I wanted to do. Got my sewing machine so was able to carry it by mysel. Felt very good about it. I think I did another big turnaround. Feel so good that I am making process instead of sliding downward. Not saying I can't have a bad day. Drove today it felt so good today and as long as this new trend continue I will be out of the house a lot. One thing I have notice is I still need at least one nap. And a long one. If that what I have to do in order to stay out of pain, I will do it. I would like to take a long drive but I muct work myself up to it. Everyone take care and please stay safe. I had another good day. My knees spent most of the day during what they are suppose to do, trasport me to place to place where I needed to be. Did have a acupucture appointment. It was really good. This time the doctor worked on my feet or it felt so good. Hardly needed any pain pills. I know I have said this before but one of these days I will be right and be off the pills. It has been almost 6 months. WOW did time fly. In somewhays I am a little scared that I am not really out of pain but in denial. Now I must get my sewing ready so I can start making the quilt that I haven't make for so long. The view is getting better and better. Now we all must make the top. Everyone have a good Holloweeen. Tashia, you are a gem! You have your ups and downs and manage to always look on the bright side, and that's not easy to do when you're in pain. It's my firm belief that the more you look on the positive side, the less pain one feels, however pain is pain and you are doing a stellar job at keeping it at bay. Good for you!

Enjoy your new sewing machine. Sewing is so much fun and a great distraction.

Jacky18 and Janet2012, Thank you for coming over and saying Hi. It is so good to be able to share that things are getting better. How are you doing. Just saw your dates and we all are in the same week. Isn"t that great? It so good to be able to go to to the store and walk down the asile and get what you need then go for a cup of tea afterwords. And to drive. What little things mean so much. Well now the storm is over I hope everyone can get what they need. I found myself overwhelmed yesterday because I remembered what I flet when I had to fix my house after my water pipe destroyed my house. It is so overwhelming. Know that we are here for you. You can do it with strenght, and yes lots of tears. Tears are very healing and do help clean the sole so please don't hold it in. I wish I was there to help you all but I can help you here with prays and surport. Know that I care and please be careful. Tashia
