Bilateral THR Thing 1 and Thing2'

I was a bit surprised in pre-op. I was the first operation of the day. Moved from pre-op to post-op. Was talking to nurse, Dr assistant. Next thing I am in post-op Being given ice. Operation done. Always had spinal in operating room before.

The thigh pain will be the pain that sticks with you...no hip pain though:yahoo:
Think you can give it a wee rest though....whatever makes you feel better.
Phenomenal thing you have made it through. Sleepy tea and ice, yes!

Hi @Berber7227
"There's no place like home" Dorothy was right.
Hope your pain is well managed and you're able to get lots of rest.
You obviously have the icing down....so helpful.
Continued healing to you. It seems you're doing great!

Hope you are icing, elevating, and resting.
It's a shock to our systems that might settle in after the post op adrenaline wears off.
Be kind to yourself!

You'll hurt.....behave yourself!
There's room in the ODIC.....so I heard.
You won't like it there, it's no fun!
Now get back to the biz of being a good patient.
But don't lose your quick wit, it's a good thing!
@Berber7227

I am on 1-2 oxy every 4 hours. Been taking 2, lasts about 2 hours. Next 2 hours spent in lots of pain, watching clock. Laying down, legs elevated,with ice. Any ideas for relief?

I'm sorry I can't offer sound advice in that regard.
What about contacting the office of your OS tomorrow a.m.
Or...even tonite if you are really suffering.
So sorry.....hate thinking about anyone being in pain like that especially when both hips are involved.
Prayers you get relief soon.
@Berber7227

Ooh...so sorry. There were some periods where I didn't have good pain management but mostly when I wasn't staying ahead of it. You are doing that, so....
I can't tolerate codeine based opiates social was prescribed Dilaudid which kept the real bad pain at bay..it managed my pain better than all else. Pretty regulated stuff so not sure if it worked be option your doctors would consider but can't imagine the being more concern over it than what you are taking.
Ice ice ice and more ice and only walk small trips...

Should have gone to ER last night! Dr in surgery, so waiting.

You need to see your family doctor to tweak your pain medication. It obviously isn't working for you. Are you icing?

Oh, that's awful! So sorry you're still struggling.
I hope you get a return phone call soon. What about Jayceys advice....calling your primary physician?
Hopefully you've already received guidance and are relaxing with controlled pain.
To a brighter day.....
@Berber7227

Healing hugs...hope for new meds for you....

Now on Diladid! Finally slept this afternoon. Was able to sleep on Thing 2!

Was Thing 1 jealous? @Berber7227

So happy you're efficiently managing the pain! Yay for sleep :sleep:
Best wishes for some more quality sleep tonight.

Good you have some relief. Rest and relax. Don't forget the ice.:ice:
