Block wore off OMG!! From my knees to bottom bandage,
Pain is horrific when I move. They must have had fun with the drill and hammer

Great to hear you are done, bilateral bud.
Very tough first weeks but that determination and sense of humor will see you through.
Now I have to name my new hips...never thought about it.
They could've started as Shock and Awe.
Now they deserve better....
Healing wishes coming at you.

@Berber7227 Welcome to the other side. Work with staff to get that pain managed. Please don't feel rushed to leave the hospital. You may need to tweak your meds to get that cocktail just right.

Ask for ice as well. They may look at you funny as most areas don't provide ice to THR patients. But it works!

Well done! Hope the icing helped. BTW - your implants didn't add any weight to your body. It's all the fluids they pump into you before, during and after the op. You will lose any weight gained very quickly. Here's an article from our Library that might be of interest: Weight of hip and knee prostheses

Oh no!
Sure hope you're doing better after some rest and ice castle therapy.
Hope you get a handle on that pain and have a good day.
Best wishes for a peaceful, relaxing weekend of healing @Berber7227

Released from hospital. Muscles are very, very stiff! Need to sleep! Not counting surgery only got a few hours sleep. Then walk, walk, walk......

Oh my you are home quickly. Relax and make ice castles (I love that lol). I hope your pain meds are all sorted.

Healing wishes :ice:.
Take it slow...we are thinking of you.:tada:

I can only take oxy! Nurses would count ice packs to refill and freeze. Had 9!!

Used tens machine last night. Worked well. They want me to massage thighs. Still a bit sensitive. Good news, part of a trial, no comiden. One less thing to deal with!!

Sounds like you are doing well..better than I did. Can't imagine massaging anything only a day or two out...
I'm glad you don't have to be on blood thinner maybe that's the reason they want you to massage...

Me neither Mojo. I’m still quite careful touching the scars now. I was a bit freaked out with how they felt that early on.
You’re doing great :)

Glad you are home and surgery is done @Berber7227 -impressed he got it all done in 2 hours. The pain stuff they put in right after surgery/blocks are a little deceptive for us in term of pain. Thanks goodness the pain subsides. Keep icing and elevated.

Thigh pain took me by surprise. Was not prepared. Dr says massage is best! He said, you need to desensitize the nerves and muscles. massage is the best way. Tens machine helps. Incision starting to be painful. Will keep my eye on it!

Sleepy Time tea helps me sleep!! I am sensitive to lots of meds!
