No, this isn't me! this is the form I want my husband to teach me since I have been upgraded to a cane:th_heehee: And Jo, I know I am a LONG way from doing this but I guess I am getting a little bored and decided to provide a little entertainment. This did turn out to be a nice PT aid for the leg raises to the side and front.

Plinej!

I'm scared of you! Hahahahahaha no joking oh my goodness that is brilliant video. He could kick some serious bum!!

Wow Plinej, thanks for the video, he isn't really a Jedi warrior in his other life.

He is certainly using the force, love it - thanks posting it.

So hubby has plans for you to learn this?

My husband being ex special forces keeps saying - drop and give me 20 soldier!!!

Gotta love them :)

Happy healing, you sound like you are doing fantastically well xx

I want what he has! Heheheh

Seriously though, I have every confidence that you will achieve this in the future, when you are all healed :)

Good for you xx

WOW! That was am impressive video. Very very cool. When you learn to do this I will be expecting a video. Great inspiration, thanks for sharing.

Well, here I am 11 days out and feeling great! I wanted to list a few unanticipated benefits I have noticed:yes 4:

1. Sleep - I have been having the best nights sleep that I have had in years!! I have always been a light sleeper, and with a snoring husband I am used to waking several times a night. I was really afraid that sleeping on my back ( I usually roll all night long!) would be a problem but it seems I have adapted really well! I am getting 5-6 hrs straight without waking and actually made it through the whole night last night without needing pain meds!

2. Blood Pressure - I have gotten the lowest readings in the last few years (120/70 yesterday!). Even with my meds I usually run in the 130's to 140's. I have gotten consistent readings in the 120's!

3. Opposite leg issues - I have had a chronic problem the last few years with toe cramps/spasms in my good leg toes and could never figure out why! I have not had one incident since the surgery, so hoping that is a thing that is gone!

4. Weight - although not much, I seem to have lost about 5lbs since surgery.

This morning I really noticed a difference with the pain and inflammation levels. Most of the swelling is down, bruising almost gone. Hoping to get staples out today. I think healthier eating is helping. Since I have been fending for myself most of the week, I have been living on oatmeal for breakfast and healthy diet dinners and soups. No junk, no wine ( husband makes really good wine and we got in the habit of having 1-2 glasses in the evening - I don't miss it and may give that up totally!) My exercises were much easier this morning also. Even the leg lifts , although those are still hard!

Wow plinej, you are doing very well. Congratulations! Long may it continue!

Wow Plinej! Talk about a success story! I have been following you since pre-op and thought with your background that you would have an easier time, but you are doing unbelievably well!

What a wonderful Christmas present to yourself! What more could anybody ask for! Congratulations on a job well done! Happiest and Healthiest of Holidays to you!

I'm so glad you are feeling well!

I love reading the post op stories--gives me something to look forward to!

Great update, plinej :) You know I too use to have problems with foot and toe cramps - and now that you mention it there have been no incidences of it for me since my surgery :) :yes 4:

Yay - No more stitches!

I had that super glue stuff, I still have the plastic over it, it's so tempting to try and peel it off but I've show great restraint!

Yes I've gained 5lbs for sure oyyyyyyy!!

Happy Holidays!

Xxooxx

Seems I have gained Kevin's and Sarah's 5lbs weight each - I know we love to share everything on BS, but please not the weight :(

Isn't it great to get those darn staples out!! That was the best day for me. Congrats on losing 5 lbs and the blood pressure being good and low. I have lost 8 lbs now and I'm just thrilled! Have a great night!!

Buffi

Ahhhhhhh I might have gained Buffi's 8lb as well!!

What's keeping me sane I had lost 35lbs before the surgery, I'm feeling the few extra lbs though right now...I've pretty much been eating whenever, whatever I like...ahhhhh it's all your fault Sandy hahahahahaha lol!

I'm committed to going back to normal routine after my post OS appointment next Thursday hopefully that day I can stop the coumadin then go back to eating healthier items like spinach salads. Funny topic!

Since my hospital stay I have this awful yummy habit of having Grahm crackers with a large illy espresso, that's dipping the cracker that's heaven!! This too will stop after next week hahahahaha!, plus Eating every time I've popped my pain pills hasn't helped. Oh well could be worse!

Congrats Buffi :)

Night, Night....
xxooxx

Sarah you mentioned in another post a sort of schedule to get from walker to crutches to cane that's in the library. Do you remember where that is? I can't seem to find it. Thanks! xo

Mmmmmmm I'm reading it again. Maybe I was a little misleading?!?!?

It's does give a time frame on walking but not necessarily which item to use. I'm completely using my cane now finally! no longer using the walker. For some reason my dr doesn't like crutches (never asked him why?) when I'm lazy I do limp but I'm trying to do that famous heel to toe keep bum tucked in approach. This evening in kitchen walked with out, but found myself grabbing cane because it goes back to me not wanting to create that bad habit of limping....Buffi I would limp before the surgery so breaking the habit is harder, hey practice makes perfect!
