Hey Judy, that vid is brilliant! You look fabulous. I don't know anything about martial arts aside from Tai Chi, but I can see some movements are similar. You say you're not going as deep as you like, but hey you're looking pretty good to me! We have a move called 'Snake Creeps Down' where you have to go really low - I saw a bit of that in your form just now. My snake is not creeping very far down at all these days, but I'm sure he'll get there in the end! And that sword work - ahh, that's really fabulous, so quick, so controlled. Well done you, it must be such a good feeling getting back to what you really love. Aren't you glad you had it done?

Judy, Like Kevin I got a lump in my throat while watching the video. Recalling how scared you were of losing your athletic ability prior to the surgery and then seeing you now - it just makes me so happy for you! Your form looks awesome. I definitely would not want to be on your bad side!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone! I am definitely finding my way. Still have a little pain and a lot of weakness in my operated leg but, heck, I was suffering for two years so those muscles, tendons, and ligaments aren't going to bounce back overnight.

I am having a heck of a week here - major disaster of a snow storm, state of emergency, three days without power. Luckily, my husband has great survival abilities and fixed us up with an alternate heat source, a supply of water (we used snow the first day!), and lots of spare flash lights and candles. Many people around us still do not have power or heat and they have emergency shelters set up. We had over 20 inches of wet heavy snow and major tree damage everywhere with power lines down all over. What a mess! We just got our power back this afternoon. I don't no how our pioneer forfathers and mothers did it! I was batty after the first night!

Judy,

That sounds pretty bad....glad your husband was taking good care of you. And you are right....all those body parts need to be coaxed out of semi-retirement, or convinced it is safe to come out and play again!

And they will...Let's hope a warm spring breathes some energy and "looseneness" into reluctant muscles....

Good luck with the cleanup,

Z

Wow, Judy!!! What an adventure! Not for me, I'm afraid. My idea of "roughing it" is spending a night in the Super 8. Happy to hear you have power back, though.
