Thanks @Celle! It has been nearly forever!

Great yoga class - well, great in that it completely reinforced that this is the right time, it was miserable and I had to drop several poses long before they were over due to just silly levels of pain. Onward, ho!

I went shopping, again...and got a couple of cotton nightshirts that aren't too hideous and a superfun leopard plush knee length fuzzy robe, will keep me warm in the halls and also serve as an extra layer if I'm super cold. Bought some prunes and manned up and ate one - not something I'd seek out but if it will keep things moving along, I'll deal. Also picked up some MOM, just in case. What else? Oh yes, individually wrapped chocolates for my nurses and other assorted hospital staff. I'm going on the premise that a little sweetness and thoughtfulness goes a long way.

Hi @TexasTee

Your dates almost here. Wow it's come around oh so quickly. You're very well prepared. Ellen's advice is brilliant keeping stuff to hand will help immensely, esp the neck pouch.

The only advice is to remove loose bath, pedestal mats, before you go into hospital, very early on I did a one legged glide on a pedestal mat, in the bathroom. Ooh and low ottomans. Terrifying just after coming out of hospital!!!

I'm sure you're going to be fine. I think you are the most organised, well informed person, well done. Just in case I sincerely wish you all the very best and an easy, speedy, recovery.

All my love Ann xxx

@TexasTee Teresa :wowspring:you are up tomorrow (Sunday 7.30pm here). I'll be sending positive vibes your way and waiting to hear that you are on the other side - BTW did you start a recovery thread? Called??

I'm sure you will be fine, you are strong and positive - remember the mantra particularly the meds bit first up - BIG hug Maggie X

In case I don't get a chance, I wanted to wish you all the best tomorrow and look forward to seeing you on the other side. I will try to check in while at work to see if you posted in your recovery thread.

Thanks also for the mention of the nurse bribes, I have added it to my ever growing list.

Happy New Knee day is less than 24 hours away!!! :loveshwr:

Thanks everyone! Other than some last minute laundry and cleaning, I think I'm as ready as I can possibly be. Not freaking out - oddly calm about the whole business. I should be done at this time tomorrow and finally be on the other side!

I'll start my post op thread tonight so it's ready for me when I'm out of  land!

Maggie - woman go to SLEEP! The endless not sleep cycle is not supposed to start until after we're on the other side :) :mcoffee:

I was astonished that I slept last night from 11 to 8:45 this morning...my dogs are pretty punctual about getting fed...my English mastiff starts this moaning, groaning, song while laying on her back all feet in the air....never, ever fails to make me giggle then they know I'm awake and all systems GO! This morning I discovered I had forgotten to thaw food for their breakfast so I was scrambling - quick thaw a package of hamburger while microwaving a sweet potato (normally they just eat poultry) so they were super excited when it was finally ready.

I do hope your new(ish) groom is taking over the puppers feeding for a while! Too funny about the floor show that your drama queens put on when you're late with breakfast. My boys were spazzy beyond belief this morning and although they know better than to jump on me right when I get out of bed, they were so darn thrilled at the prospect of food, that my 17 year old gave me a 'love tap' in the direction of their bowls and caught me right behind 'Dick'. Slamming into a wall isn't my idea of a great way to wake up, but what can you do? I love them.

I can't believe tomorrow is the day! I know we'll 'chat' beforehand, but in case I don't get back on here prior, you will absolutely be in my thoughts tomorrow and hopefully by the time I drag my lazy tush out of bed in the morning, you'll be well on your way to the new and improved bionic you!!!

I'm liking the peeps you have to recover with, btw. Will make passing the 'recliner time' so much less annoying. ;-)

All the best for tomorrow. See you on the recovery side!

Thanks Ellen and Kneeper! Sorry about the love tap - ouch!! I know I'm going to have plenty in store from that direction but hopefully not for a few weeks/months...fingers crossed. Yes, indeed, husband is taking over -since the dogs eat raw they eat outside, no way I'll be carrying two bowls of food with two nutty dogs jumping up and down as if they have never seen food before! He's up for longer than I think, he thinks ;) In an emergency I could manage to feed them in the kitchen but I'd rather not.

a Speedy recovery!

I still haven't got the hang of the time difference, so I don't know whether you are asleep now, but I just wanted to send last minute good wishes, I will look out for your post op thread, and we can chat, and hopefully I can be of some support to you as you have been to me. Xxx Lyn

@TexasTee. You're just a few hours away now, but you know just about everything you need to know thanks to bonesmart! I will see if I can rustle up some positive juju for you, but you are going to do fine. Being up first is awesome-i was lucky with that too. So, they will give you a nice gown to change into, check your vitals, get your iv started, and then get you some happy juice. You will wake up in recovery seemingly minutes later with a new knee. We are all here if you need anything. I am barely a month out myself, so if you have any questions, need some reassurance, ot just want to chat, let me know. The final hours leading up to the surgery were by far the worst for me...just fear and anxiety over surgery, but as I discovered, the surgery itself is practically a non-event. I hope knowledge of that can help you relax in these final hours. I know you will do great!

Thanks everyone - this is truly a wonderful site, full of fantastic and supportive people! It's currently 4:30 on Sunday so I'm a bit more the 12 hours out and feeling really ok about it. @Nana moon 27 - that pup is gorgeous! Welcome @Legin - I've seen you out and about and always have a laugh with your fun.

Didn't hurt that I have been running all over the universe putting some last miles on the original knee - I'm already at 10000 steps today and I still have a bit to do. Knee isn't going to cooperate much further but it was sunny and 70+ today so I had lunch at a terrific patio restaurant then went for a long walk/shop and now home finishing up the last bits. Once my sheets are back on the bed, I"m all done for the day. Bag is packed and I'm good to go. My last decision of the day is where we'll be eating dinner.

My poor husband is a bit traumatized - somehow he had gotten the idea that if they managed to do the partial that I wasn't going to have to stay in the hospital...not sure what rock he's been under but he's regrouping well, I think. Time will tell! Guess I'll go open up my Post Op thread

Thank you Vinny and Tim! I hope to be able to check in tomorrow - nothing shuts me up for too long so I'm hopeful :)

Just opened my recovery thread - "TexasTee finally has a new knee"

@TexasTee

The pup isn't mine although I'm still desperate to have a small dog, hubby won't hear of it. I just thought he was cute and thought he'd make a nice virtual "card". Big hugs x x good luck! X x x
