Pleased to hear that you are on the other side and in minimal pain. Keep going and you'll have a great recovery. :)

Yay, Sue! Welcome to Hippiedom! As you know, recovery is not a linear process. This concept has been tough for me to accept, so I just thought I'd mention it so we can remind each other!

Hi everyone. Glad to have gotten off the morphine. Made me soo nauseous . Got up and sat in chair for 2 hours. That was an adventure but I did it and was soo proud of myself. Went back to bed and they put air mattress on bed cuz most of u know the beds not so nice to the butt lol lol Took nap and ice. Got my vicodine and I walked 40 steps and I have to say I was nervous but when I could move that leg all by myself tears of joy came over me. Back in bed with ice. 1 out of 10 pain so very thankful. Be going home on sat ....lots of pt tomorrow. You all are simply the best

Hi Sue, so happy you are rid of the morphine, and you are walking and doing great!
Glad you get to go home Saturday, with plenty of time for PT on Friday.
You are on your way! :happydance:

@Sue629, I have developed an avatar that I thought you might like to use. It is already sized to fit perfectly as I have tested it. On a PC, just right click on the attached picture and "save image as" in your picture files. Then hover your mouse of your user name at the top of the page and from the drop down menu select "Avatar". The click the browse button and find the picture in your files and double click it. Then click "Okay"and you are done. On an iPad, hold your finger on the image and you will be presented with the options to copy or save the image. Choose 'save the image' go to your user name, top of screen and select Avatar and then choose 'existing choice' and apply and bingo you have your new avatar.

If you are not interested, my feelings will not be hurt. I just enjoy doing this when the opportunity presents itself.

@Sue629 It gets better and better as you go forward. Just remember not to overdo! And take it easy in PT -- remember Josephine says that hips will sort themselves out by themselves. I'm living proof of that!

So glad you are feeling better. Isn't it wonderful to be rid of that awful bone-on-bone pain?

My sister is having her hip replaced on May 14 (same OS as I had). I pushed her in a wheelchair up to his office for her pre-op appointment today all by myself!! Wow -- I went from having to be pushed up there in wheelchair by my son to being able to push my sister in. OS said I could become his poster child for hip replacements. :)

You'll be back to your old self (pre hip pain) soon.

Peace and love to you.

Hi all. Quick update. Thought I was going home today Sat but my blood count came back low so they want to keep me another day to see if It improves. It was a little disappointing but I know the right thing to do. I want to go home feeling confident in knowing i will be okay. I am up and walking and it's amazing my bone on bone pain is gone. Managing pain. In last 2 days its not above 3.....Thank you to my bs family for all your thoughts. Forever grateful.
Sue

@Sue629 so glad to hear you are doing so well! The pain management is so important, so good that you are keeping it in check!! Hang in there, it's better safe than sorry and you'll be back home before you know it.
Hugs,
Lisa aka Hipster Chic

Hang in their sue629 it's gonna be alright. Things are looking up for all of the April 30th crew. I came home last night and slept like a baby. I'm having physical therapy at home with a nurse 3 times a week. Take care and stay positive it's a slow process. I remember from my first hip replacement 12 weeks ago. Take it slow and do what you can and time will heal the rest.

@Sue629 I had the same problem this time. I had to have two units of blood otherwise I probably would have gone home a day earlier. Don't worry. They are doing what is best for you. Here's to a smooth recovery!

Sounds like your doing really well Sue!! Hope you get home soon and if you have to stay in hospital for another day or two it is for the best really!
