Wow what a really full on time you'd had, loads of steps, lot's of sitting, in uncomfortable seats no doubt, many staircases, thats with out all the workshops, concerts and just general socialising, all really tiring but I'm glad you enjoyed it all without too many side effects!! I'm guessing you will need to rest for a few days now? Glad to hear mum is doing well too!

Welcome back Songlady and Happy 4th of July!
I'm so glad it all went well, despite the soreness. But you did so much walking - about 25,000 steps!
You sound really happy to have gone and very inspired about your music - a great lift for your spirits. And it's good that your Mom is ok, too.
I'd say, a very successful trip. With a little rest, you'll be just fine. Good for you! :)

Hi everyone -
Peaches, LeeApril26, I remember flying back into NYC one 4th of July and seeing the fireworks from above. Wow, was that special!
ByGosh and zauberflöte - I am mostly recovered, I think. I sat in my recliner most of the morning with my old trusty back muscle spasm thing, finally took something for it and was able to do pretty well the rest of the day. I'm still walking less week than I was a week ago, but....I am pretty sure I didn't actually "injure" myself and that this will be fine soon.
All and Elosarabrab, Poppet, Kim22, Littlejem - the marathon continues; morning after tomorrow we leave to drive to my in-laws, which is about 850 miles away. We stop partway for the night, and I'll do foot pumps, glute squeezes, and every other kind of sitting exercise I can imagine along the way!
I will have my handy tablet with me for the week..... soooooo....:rotfl: Comedy alert! Look out for the entertaining typos! (Hopefully I won't be as tired and rushed when typing, so I will have the alertness to proofread!)

Songlady Have a safe trip, and stretch at rest stops.
We are in the country with our son and his wife, so we watched the fireworks on TV. It is insanely crowded in the viewing areas, so we haven't gone in years. When it was on the East River we could see them from our neighborhood, quite easily, but not on the Hudson.
Hope your mattress topper works out well.

Hi @bybgosh, zauberflöte, LeeApril26 and everyone's on the road, on the tablet, and I can't figure out how to nightlight and copy names on this gizmo! The day started out with Ouches!! I don't know when I've been so sorry and Both hips and groin muscles hurt! Maybe from the tension of getting ready yesterday, along with Songboy's BD, etc.
I got out and strected'd at every opportunity. (Stretched.) Noticed that the more I moved the more limber I was.
Some 3 hours more tomorrow and we'll arrive at the in-laws. Will report on how the hips and I travel at some point_ will need to go up the hill to BIL's house to get internet.
I feel like a pioneer for Hip Travel! Lol

Songlady when I was borrowing my son's Andriod tablet, I could neither tag people nor get to the smilies, as I recall. You're doing pretty well there! I'm sorry you're sorry, but I bet you're also sore:rotfl:
Save the long reports for your computer, eh? LOL LOL
Safe travels tomorrow :)

Oh Songlady, I'm sorry you hurt. I sure hope your mattress topper is keeping you comfy, and that you have enough pillows. (I have become the pillow monster since surgery.) Also hope you are better at walking up hills than I am, or you will have no internet access.
You probably did a lot more than you acknowledged, what with packing and SB's birthday. Be kind to yourself!

What a great adventure Songlady,
Sounds like you are doing very well. It's the sitting that's the killer isn't it but you're doing all the right things with stretching etc. once you get used to the tablet you won't want to go back to a PC.
I got my ipad two years ago to take on an OS trip and I absolutely love it.

Hi, Songlady! So happy to read all about your adventure. It sounds wonderful, and more than that, YOU sound like you handled it all so well. I still don't think that it's easy to be all that comfortable no matter where I sit, but wood pews would not be at the top of the list of comfy places. Also, I find I really need to get up much sooner than the recommended hour or whatever it is. I find that ideally I need to vary things up every 15 minutes or so, if possible. Of course that is rarely the case. You sound just terrific and I am so happy it worked out as well as it did.
You are the second person I know from Connecticut who has mentioned bell ringing adventures. How are you doing now? How is the heat in your neck of the woods?

ByGosh, zauberflöte, Peaches, Elosarabrab, LeeApril26, Maeve and all, I justbwroteba long entry and my tabletbsaid I wasn't logged in tonpost! So I lost that post. I was sore this morning.in had not brought my mattress topper into the hotel because the mattress felt right at first touch. Wrong. I spent fitfully, waking when I hurt too much and had to rollbto another position. I had used the topper at the convention and it did help. I plan to use it now for the week.
I do have meds with me, and will use them if zi need to !
