THR Second one - hope it's better than the first

@Mojo333 I am definitely not pregnant! Lol I have googled it and it seems that there may be some anesthetic stuck in my liver which causes it. So on a liver detox now to see if that helps!!!

Wow @Bevlah, thanks for sharing that. Think I will have some detox tea on hand just in case. I know everything in our body is connected, but liver impacting smell, who knew :chinstroke:

@Bevlah Are you still the same with your scent issues? I won't let the humidifier back into the bedroom, but now am bothered by body odors. Including mine...even right after a shower. Sigh. I'm sure this must have something to do with the anesthesia. Right? Anyone else?

@Poodles hi lovey, everything smells more perfumy if that makes sense? I have a weird perfumy taste in my mouth which is making everything smell the same! I only have a problem with deodorant, perfume etc but I know what you mean I have a heightened sense of smell with everything! It does seem to be getting a bit better so I am hoping it will go soon as it is really irritating. I have been drinking warm water with a slice of lemon to try and detox my liver. It's not a common side effect so we are special!!good luck with the dehumidifier

Hope you have a very good day today. You are certainly a positive lady and that certainly helps in recovery.:hi:

Hi Bevlah.
Has your sniffer calmed down or are you still a super smeller?
Wondering what added restrictions you have to follow since you also had bone graft?
Hoping all is well with you.

@Mojo333 hi lovey nice to hear from you! Yes sniffer all sorted now, it only lasted just over 2 weeks! Weird though eh? Oh I don't really know to be honest?!!! My physician won't win any personality awards but hopefully he knew what he was doing?? They basically kicked me out after 4 days. The PT called a few days ago to check I was doing my excercise, may have lied a bit......ooops! Then the next I will see my physician at 6 weeks. There is basically no after care or what I should expect or do?!?! Thank goodness for this website but yeah with the bone graft no idea. I do have pain in my groin if I lift my leg up in the exercises so have stopped doing that. I don't think I am doing as well as some on this site as I am still using a crutch and 2 when I go out and can't walk that far. But I am taking it at my own pace as I have learnt from some of the forums that you can do more damage if you rush things. I must say though that this has probably been the worst experience of my life, including pre op and diagnosis and now the recovery. I am so grateful to bone smart as nobody in my circle of friends has a clue (lucky them!) What its like! One of my main queries is that I have never had a good range of movement in my hips from an early age. Could never cross my legs or sit cross legged on the floor etc. Now I have the new hip and rebuilt pelvis I am a bit scared to push it and see if I can open my legs wider!!!! Sounds a bit daft but it has been a MASSIVE thing all of my life. If this problem ever came up in conversation to friends they just laughed as they saw the sexual conitation!! Bet you wished you hadn't asked now!! Hope you are well lovey

Very very early days for you and I know my legs felt like they were used for punching bags.
Good for you for not pushing exercises as the walking is quite enough for now.
When some of that trauma subsides, you can work on that range of motion. I DO see how you would be anxious to know that this surgery hopefully improves your flexibility. There is undoubtedly still alot of swelling in there, so too early to know I would think.
I don't think I am doing as well as some on this site as I am still using a crutch and 2 when I go out and can't walk that far.
I think you are doing splendidly so please don't dare to compare.
Most didn't have your specific issues AND some over achievers do hit the ODIC, Overdid It Club, not good.
Since your doctor did not give alot of aftercare instructions...I'll give you one in addition to The Big Tip (hips don't need pt to heal)
NO FALLING!
Hope your week is peaceful and healing.

You remind us of the the silly things we all took for granted until they began slipping away.
For example sitting cross legged on the floor. Haven't tried it since surgery but I'm going to later on.
Healing takes time and that's where patience comes into play. At 7 months post op there continue to
be little surprises as I realize I can once again do things with ease that had become difficult to impossible.

Great to hear the sense of smell biz cleared. That had to be an annoyance.
Just keep plugging away, Bev it will all come in due time.
Hope your week is great!

@Layla let me know how you get on sitting crossed legged! Maybe we should have a gallery of pictures of people achieving this goal? I hope one day that this simple pleasure will one day be mine! I was always laughed at at school in assembly as my knees were up around my ears!

I think Zauberfloate was around before your days began here, not sure.. but she posted a pic
on her thread when the New Years Eve party was going on. It was a goal of hers to sit
criss-cross applesauce, as she called it, and she did!
It was fun to see her accomplish that with a big ol smile to boot!
@Bevlah

The bottom half of my scar is very swollen, warm and I can feel my jogging bottoms rubbing against it. The top half has healed ok but there is a scabby bit in the middle and the bottom half looks like the wound is pulling apart?

I can't upload a pic but I am 4 weeks post op this Thursday and am a bit concerned?

@Josephine or anyone else have advice? I would love to upload a pic but it says it's too big!! I know my leg is but thought that was a bit rude!!!!

Sorry for the pic but you can see what I mean about the bottom half of my scar?

I'm still pre-op and normally cannot smell most things. Tobacco and bad perfumes is about it. But recently, I smell unpleasant smells. I don't want to smell, if that's the way it works!

Just before I went into surgery the surgeon told me my most recent xrays showed my hip was a mess, one of the worst he has seen. He also said my hips come out at an unusual angle and that dislocating my hip for surgery will be difficult. I've decided that my unusual angle is the reason I'm not a gymnast. In time I'll also attempt to sit cross legged.

@Kazann hi, my hips weren't even in the sockets and looks like had never been! I just thought I was really really unsupple! We shall encourage each other to get those knees down to the floor!!!
