THR Second one - hope it's better than the first

@mcopt they do have a lovely large house so they wouldnt notice if I moved in..........

Great news on walking @Bevlah. It seems once we turn that corner, we start picking up speed. Don’t go overboard in your enthusiasm, but this is great! Enjoy your time in Cambridge.

Woohoo, Bev!
Wonderful news on walking unaided in Cambridge. I hope you have a lovely time.
Enjoy the weekend!
@Bevlah

@Josephine hi I am on 500mg of paracetamol and on a bad day (today!!) I take solpadol 30mg/500mg caplets every 4 hours.

Just curious @Bevlah. Do you need prescriptions for things like solpadol in the UK? ( I had to google that). I seem to recall from being in pharmacies during my visits to UK that you have many different over the counter options than we do in US. This makes us totally dependent upon doctor for anything more than Tylenol. With the opioid epidemic, it is making it very tough on folks. I notice a difference in what doc is able to do in last year and a half since first thr. While I agree they got far too loose here in the past with prescriptions, it seems like they are forced to tighten up way too much.

This Solpadene (co-codamol) has 30mg codeine in it which makes it prescription only. Only co-codamol with 8 or 16mg codeine are over the counter meds.

Thanks. I don’t think we have been able to get anything over the counter with codeine in it for a number of years.

Hi yes the co codamol was prescription and is left over from pain killers before the op

The Government in Aus have only last week, banned the sale of any medication with any amount of codeine in it. It’s prescription only from now on. They gave some stats which showed it was responsible for more deaths than illicit drugs.

Hi Bev,
Stopping by yo say Hi!
Hope you're feeling better today, suffering less pain.
Not sure if you're still on vacation but if you are, hope you're enjoying it.
A great Sunday to you!
@Bevlah

6 weeks this Thursday can't believe my restrictions, stockings etc etc finally come to an end :happydance::yay::beer::egypdance::cheers::wink::wowspring::)
That's how happy I am!! Back to work on Friday but mornings only for the first couple of weeks. Still no driving as my op leg is still not fully weight bearing so not good for braking. I will get there but will have to rely on lifts from my boss. Hey if he wants me back at work right? :yes: anyway I have been to see my doc about my lack of movement as it's just as bad as before. He told me that my muscles are all tight as I have not used them at all through my life, so I need intensive physio. In the UK you can request physio yourself so have just done that. It will be a long and painful road of waking up those dormant muscles (I am hoping that I even have any!!) But if I can get my legs to do what everyone else's does then it will be worth it!!! :dancy:
Hope all you new hippies are recovering well! Forgot to mention I am having some work done to my utility room and the builder is VERY handsome..........:loveshwr:

Excellent news @Bevlah. Glad you are only part time for a while. Having boss as chauffeur not bad.

Good luck as you start physio. Hope they take it easy on you at the start (and you make them do do).

Great you are able to request physio on your own there. Do they limit visits and have a copay? In the US it is typically more restricted and insurance only provides a certain number of visits per day.

I think you need to closely supervise builder :heehee:

@MammaT hi gorgeous lady. Mmmm very closely monitored all day :loll:.... He is soooooo handsome! Yes physio you have to request on line. Then I assume I will get an appointment to go to the hospital and be assessed? They will be very shocked at my lack of leg muscles but it will be their job to wake them!! I assume I will then be given home exercises. We will wait and see. How are you doing? Hope all is well in Mamma T land and you are doing ok

Doing well. Got home from post op. Pleased with progress. Agreed some of recent pain is from trying to fully transition to cane sooner than hip is ready, so I am to slow down just a couple of steps (that whole not doing things to excess).

Glad you supervised closely! Hope they get pt started. Don’t overdo it.

Great updates...thank goodness you got rid of those torturous stockings:egypdance:
Will be thinking of you and sending healing vibes your way.
Hope today is a Good Day.:wave:
