Oh i didnt think the underneath ones would pop out lol. I have managed to find a plaster that doesnt seal in the middle although its my daughters horror plasters haha. It will stop it catching though so just hope nobody sees it or i may lose my credibility as an adult

Had another look at the scab and as its free i lifted it slightly and it looks like its attached to a stitch. Should i ask the district nurse to come and cut it or is there a way i can take care of it myself @Josephine ?

Thanks @vinny will sterilise some tweezers and see if i can even free the scab from it without actually going near the wound. Dont want to unnecessarily take up nurses time if i can help it.

I cant budge it Celle. Not prepared to go near the hole in the top. Just going to take a trip to the treatment room and see if they can sort it out. I cant see whats in there so left it.

If the scab is stuck, then it is still healing underneath, best to leave it alone.

I have pain at the bottom of my leg. Kills when walking and very tender to the touch. Is this a normal thing? I cant remember. Its at the right side in the middle of the picture (my right)

Chereb.....please don't ever try to deal with a stitch that comes up through the skin yourself. You are not wasting a nurse's time by calling them. This is what they are paid to do! I know you will read of folks here who snip them off themselves, but that's a risk and it's really not worth it.

As for the pain, it is quite normal to have all sorts of odd pains as you heal. There is no bruising on your leg, so it is most likely a temporary discomfort related to either swelling (even though you might not see evidence of it) or irritation of soft tissue from movement in a way your muscles/ligaments are not used to. Don't push if it hurts. Do some resting and icing on the area. If it persists, give your doctor a call, but I have a feeling it will not be an issue a couple of weeks from now.

Thanks @Jamie i went down to health centre on Friday and they snipped as close as possible. 3 days on and its already closed :-)
My hubby thinks the leg pain might be because im walking better and using the muscle there.
Im off to the cinema today with my 10 year old to see Cinderella and take her for lunch. My 16 year old has dumped me in favour of friends haha. I had a passive rom of 99 this morning. Highest i have measured it first thing with no stretching :-) My assisted is still around the 110 mark. Only now doing heel slides and leg lifts as the bike seemed to aggravate the knee and it swelled more. Im now wearing mepiform plasters over the scar as its supposed to flatten and minimise the scar :-)

Well back from the cinema and that was an experience. Sat for 2 hours and when i stood up my knee just jutted all over the place. Not a great experience!

It's still very early, only a few weeks, and you're doing great, I wouldn't have attempted cinema at that stage. I tend to agree with hubby, you must be using muscles you haven't used for a while. My knee used to 'wobble' as if it was going to give way but it got better as my muscles got stronger. Take it easy!

@speccybecky lesson learned lol. Wont be repeating that in a hurry x

Off to see surgeon for my 6 week check up. Hoping all goes well.

Thats me had my check up :-) Surgeon was impressed with my rom which is around 110. He said its better than he expected at this stage. He said i should get around 130. Have a weepy bit at the bend of my knee and need to keep my eye on it and go back if it gets worse but he thinks its nothing to worry about. Im officially discharged and have to do an outcome review at 3 months and 12 months. Very happy :-)

Had to give up my cryo cuff for a few days due to it rubbing on a weeping part of my wound. Measured my knee and it was 40cm the non op knee was 36cm. Yesterday i managed to start using it again and the knee is now down to 37.5cm. Just shows how the ice works for swelling and pain.
Im doing good but still have that pain above the ankle whenever i put weight on it. Girls go back to school tomorrow so hoping the 5 min walk twice a day will start to build some strength. My quads feel pretty weak still but the os was pretty happy at the strength i have just now. On Friday it will be 6 weeks until our Florida holiday. Cant wait for some sunshine.
Still doing nothing in the way of physio. We have 2 flights of stairs in our house so thats doing enough haha. Im doing some gravity bending and swinging on the table too. Still not doing the bike as it was aggribating the knee.
