Hinged Joint Revision Complete, recovery continues

Poppet thanks for the information. It is cold here, so am drinking lemon tea, (lemon and hot water). Will prepare some lemon water for later today.
Looking forward to glowing in the dark tonight :heehee:.

Well, the test itself was no problem. Been drinking lemon water (one liter), and at lunch lemonade made with real lemons.
Anyway the tech let me watch the screen during the bone scan and there was definite increased uptake in the lateral knee, mostly along the tibial implant. Right where I can feel warmth over my knee.
My followup appointment is on December 11th with the OS, so guess that is when I will find out what all this means.
I am thinking there is a revision in my future. I am both relieved and upset.
Many thanks to tashia, Poppet, RestAssured for your support, much appreciated.
So until then life goes on,

I am so pleased dear Pumpkln that the bone scan procedure is over... How about I tag Josephine for her wise input.

Hopefully the next few weeks until you see your OS goes quickly to get his opinion. :)

I am glad its over but sad that it looks like more surgrey but I do know that you want to be totally free from pain. Not just half. Time does go by doesn't it. I realized I don't count any days or months more other than the day of the surgies. That is good but because I found I got anxious when I did. My last knee that was has done so good I hope that it keeps it for ever. We all will get in full recovery but just when is the big question. Take care and remember day at a time. Tashia

Pumpkln,

Increased uptake huh? Well, if a revision is in your future, you know you have friends who have been through it and came out victorious on the other side! :happydance:

So far today, I have walked over 7 miles as we went to the Dallas Arboretum and saw many wonderful flowers waterfalls, trees etc! :happydance:

If I can come out victorious I know you can also! I will be praying for you dear friend! :friends:

My husband was hoping I would glow in the dark also, but nope it didn't happen! :rotfl:

Be well,

Thanks Dawn,
I am going with the tendonitis until I hear any different. Less than 3 weeks until my appointment, I will be glad to have it behind me. Otherwise I try to not think about it too much.
Take care,

OK, caught up on your thread.
Hopefully it is just tendonitis and all is well!
Fingers crossed for you! :)

my spider bite behind TKR knee. Yes I am at urgent care for a look. Was bit yesterday afternoon, at least it has not grown. Hurts and burns, but not too bad. Good I have a cold, cause I would catch one here for sure.

Sent from my iPod touch using BoneSmart®

Just a nasty looking bite, getting antibiotics.

Oh This isn't good. I do hope that its ok. Having both is not the way to do this week. Hope that you get over the cold and most of all the spider bite goes away very quickly. Tashia

Tashia,
The spider bite looks much better today, and no longer hurts. :)
Was :yikes: to have it on the TKR leg. Still have the cold so took it easy today.

Getting so very tired of waking up every night with knee pain, and not being able to sleep. Tylenol does not cut it. I was up in the middle of the night putting a cold pack on my knee, was too late to go back to sleep. Pain now at a tolerable level to start the day.
A full work day is ahead, time to put the smile on my face and say I am fine.

I have been feeling tired and worn down every day, and have been wondering why, duh, you cannot sleep at night and are not rested. I just want to stay at home.

Looking very much forward to my appointment with my OS on Wednesday for bone scan results !

Chris, thinking of you and sending best wishes and prayers. A cold, a nasty spider bite, and a painful knee!!!! No one deserves all that at one time. Sending healing thoughts and vibes your way, too. Let us know what the doc has to say.

Take care, keep us posted, you know we care.

bottomshollow,
I would like to change my thread name to: Painful TKR, Challenges Ahead
Thanks for stopping by to lend support, it is much appreciated!

Pumpkin, You sound that you are getting down. I know that you have had a long jouney but you are going to win. The weather is ruff and that can't be helping at all. Hows the snow. Its so cold and all my plants have gotten together and trying to keep warm. Its a cold one and maybe putting some creame of it would help them. I'm goint to order some medical creame from Austraila to see if it would help. Stay warm, climb in bed this weekend and get some sleep, its going to be a ruff one. Please take care my friend, Tashia

Thanks Tashia,
I will stay warm, did all our shopping today and amready to enjoy curling up at home and having Hot Chocolate.
Knee settled down last night and I was able to get some sleep, what a difference it makes:sleep:.
Having a pitty party here helped me get through the day and be cheerful.
