Revision April 2017 / Fed Up

Hi @Crisps-I have read in some other posts that Josephine is currently away. Four weeks waiting can seem like an eternity. Could you talk to someone from doctor’s office? Is medication helping? I’m tagging one of the advisors, she may have timeframe for Josephine’s return and possibly other suggestions @Layla?

Hi @Crisps
I'm really sorry for your struggles. Your situation is pretty involved and beyond anything
most of us can advise on. Josephine is currently unavailable so my best suggestion would be that you contact your physician and go from there.
We're certainly here to offer support and welcome you to continue stopping by.
Its difficult to imagine you in pain and suffering so I hope that in speaking with your physician you'll soon find answers and resolution. Prayers for peace and comfort in the interim.

Hoping you are doing okay. Just wanted you to know we are thinking of you.
When Jo returns, will be interested about her thoughts on your situation.
Hugs:hi:

This hip has been operated on so many times, consultant alone has done five on it.
Forget the three osteotomies - they are too long ago to be of any consequence/
trochanter has not retreated.
By this, do you really mean the trochanter has not healed?
X-ray shows distal screw has fractured, second proximal wires also parted, distal end of plate standing off.
These I understand and can tell you unequivocally that this fracture will never heal given those circumstances
So my fear is what happens if scar tissue not formed
You're not waiting for 'scar tissue', you're waiting for bone to heal.

Can you get a copy of this xray so I can see it for myself?

Hi

Finally got some X-rays , I hope I have up loaded the most recent for you to have a look at. Things are actually a lot better at the moment. Hopefully putting off having the plate removed.

I'm glad there seems to be a little good news for you, dear crisps.
Wired for sound, you are.
Stay cool and easy...you are such a determined individual.
:friends:

Hopefully another X-ray before the screw broke . I have got more but keeps saying file to big . Will try again tomorrow.

Hope you're doing okay...
I'm sure Jo will be by to comment on the latest x-rays.
Prayers and best wishes as you continue healing.
@Crisps

Crisps, I know Josephine won't be around today so it may be a little bit.
I know you are anxious for her input.
I don't have anything to say but WOW. Not in a mean way...I thought the same when I saw my bilateral new hips...just :flabber:
Hope you are finding some distractions to get your mind off anxiety.

Thank you Mojo and Layla, for your replies. I am feeling much brighter mood wise and pain wise so always a positive for us all. Think I am back on my recovery path, taking it slowly hoping this plate holds out for a while without another screw breaking.

You're welcome!
Glad to hear you're feeling better...right in time for the weekend.
I hope your weekend is great!

Let's see if @Josephine has time to look at those x-rays above...
@crispy

Crisps, you don't need to post any more xrays. I can see all I need to. And I put your second image in with the first. Hope that's okay.

Hopefully putting off having the plate removed.
You know what? I think you should get that plate removed. It's obviously moving around and will cause you pain.

I also missed that you are going to the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt hospital at Oswestry, Gobowen! Great place.

Hi Josephine

Yes thank you for sorting out my X-ray post. Do you think the replacement looks strong , specially around the cup? As I have sort of decided to go back to work in two weeks. The plate is no longer catching me, making me scream out or stopping me moving once I stand. I have reduced all the extra meds and have returned to my usual Zomorph , as I certainly would not try dropping them, just yet. I have increased my activity levels. In and outside of the home, to see and test the improvement.
My fear is going ahead and having it taken out to find the joint is not strong enough.
My right hip is beginning to get fatigued and causes some discomfort but not pain. Like everyone says, it's so hard making decisions what's in my best interests, when at times we guessing the outcomes.

Indeed Josephine, so lucky to be looked after at Gobowen and even more thankful I have had the same consultant for the last three operations. I trust him and value his skill and guidance. He has left it up to me to contact him if I want listing, but was very very keen for me to sit it out and see if it improves, which it has.

So for the long post , but my head buzzing.

I have registered for the conference looking forward to it

It all looks solid as a rock to me!
have returned to my usual Zomorph , as I certainly would not try dropping them, just yet.
Why not? How long have you been on it?

Who is your surgeon?

Hi

Zomorph been on this for approx 6/years, for chronic pain , hips and spine. My plan is to start dropping these, once this left hip settles.

Josephine what do you think about X-ray showing my right hip.?

P Gregson is my consultant .

Thank you.

Great do you know him, or just from other members on here.

Also made massive change in my decision, going to ask to be listed for plate out , as clearly with dropping add on meds and increasing my activity, it's started catching me again
