November 10th is surgery date. My backstory is I have had an arthritic hip for several years based on X-ray. Had no pain in hip but had right side radiculopathy. MRI was ordered for spine and showed bulging discs in the lumbar column and was managed for the spine condition by pain management for 1.5 years. Ended up this year with herniated disc and had a laminectomy/discectomy. About 3 weeks post op had groin pain and everyone thought it was residual nerve pain healing from surgery. At week 12 spine surgeon ordered hip MRI. Basically no labrum left and a large cyst in iliopsoas area which was causing the pain/discomfot.

What I can say in hindsight and after research that this can occur in conjunction with degenerative hip disease, as both conditions can affect the lumbar spine and lead to overlapping symptoms. The pain from hip degeneration may mimic or exacerbate radicular symptoms due to nerve compression in the spine. Puzzle has been solved and looking forward to getting back to 100%.

@gruke1226913! Welcome! I always think of one of my favorite songs growing up in Sunday School, "Dem Bones" when we talk about how one part of the body can affect another. It still amazes me. I'm so glad you have your surgery date and it is just around the corner. Yes, it will be so good too get back to your life. I hadn't realized how small my world had become because of my hip pain. It's certainly worth the surgical pain and realtively short period of time and patience to be back on the road to being yourself again. Blessings for your upcoming surgery. We're here for you!
