:goodpost: :iagree::welome: They said it all! Let me know when you are ready for that walk on the beach - I'll hop the first jet! If I can walk a mucky barnyard without walker or cane (I think at three weeks) - we'll scoot out for a stroll on the beach showing off our badges of courage in the skimpiest bikini ever - no problem!!!

@psychteach Congrats, you made it!! Been thinking about you all day - watching for your update when you're up to it. All the best :)

Can't wait to hear how you are doing. It's been a long time coming and you will be so happy to soon get back to a normal, pain-free life. :loveshwr:

Okay so I made it. The most nervous member on the board. I did well but had some issues. My surgery was 7:30 and started right on time. The anesthesiologist tried a couple of time to talk me out of the spinal( why?) by telling me some people who are young develop a head ache after. I was determined and did not want general. So I got spinal.. No big deal and I was out. I woke up having a dream about teaching my ap class and was moving my arms all over while they were trying to clean me up. I felt good at first. Spinal was still working. No pain. When my husband came to see me he asked if I spoke to doctor.. I could tell by his face there was something.. He tried to tell me to wait for doc but finally told me that my femur fractured and had to be tied. I have heard others have this so I was not completely panicked. Still no restrictions .. Just one of those things that sometimes happen. Soon after I started having some pretty intense pain. Since I had asked doctor for just tramadol they gave me 100 mg and it did nothing!!! I got one dose of morphine and then decided my tramadol only might not be such a good idea. Got one Percocet and perked up.. I had also had some nausea they were giving me med for. The surgery was 2.5 hours and I did not do great with the spinal according to doc as my blood pressure dropped rapidly( I normally have low BP ) they thought it was blood loss as I am little 5 '2 , 108 pounds .. My blood dropped to 8.1 but after surgery my pressure never dropped lower than 91/58 and my heart rate was normal so they are holding off a transfusion . I got up for PT walked 15 feet.. Really weird feeling!!! Just made it back to bed before I grew white and then had a little spell of nausea again. But happy I walked!!! In the last couple of hours I have felt a lot better.. Color in my face back a little.Ate a little dinner.. Slowly:).. The pain is being controlled by toradal (sp) and is much less then earlier .. Sore like a Charlie horse but definitely better than earlier. I am on top of ice.. Although I have to ask a couple of times to get it but I know from all of you how much it helps!!! So I feel I am definitely improving... Wish I could move more but giving myself time. I still have catheter .. Happy to have it for now.. I am happy to join all of you and that it is OVER!!!
