OMG Bill @fulafoto words escape me!!!! Those photos are truly magnificent. You see beauty in so many places and are you telling me that you don't even get out of the car to take these shots???? I left a comment on the site but its a bit lame. Words can't describe how those pics made me feel.

I especially was amazed at the mist shots and the rodeo shot!!!!! To capture the horse and rider in such a moment is truly amazing. I loved the Childers Rotary tent in the background. The photo that showed me you see beauty everywhere was the shot of the tractor next to the sugar cane. How many times do we drive through QLD and wonder at the cane but not see the beauty?????? Such a normal site in QLD but your shot was far from normal.

Now....I live in God's country!!!!! The Sutherland shire in Syndeys south is often described as Gods country. Just saying!!!!

Keep up the amazing shots....

Hey @fulafoto ......just stopping by to say "HEY" and see how things are going. Hope you are doing well, I go to the OS on Tuesday to see my xrays, that will be 5 1/2 weeks out and see what kind of release he will give me. I honestly do not think I have the energy to do a full day right now. I am on my 4th antibiotic since week 1 post-op for upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, this time I have wheezing so have an inhaler on top of everything else, I think it's be about 6-7 years since I had anything that made me wheeze, so this bug is a doozy and I really believe I would have more energy if I wasn't sick....so much pollen here, oak trees and pine trees everything is coated in a yellowish green powder. You would love the top of the pine trees right now, when they hit this spurt and around Easter, it looks like a cross on the tippy top of every tree, I need to research this, but it is amazing. Flowers are blooming, everything that was asleep is now awake, including the wasps! Take care my friend keep me posted.

Hey @GaRosehippy Roseann and thanks for your message. I am doing OK - pain fluctuates from a bearable 5-6 to a 9-10 but usually not too bad. I had my bloods and urine taken today and have my pre-op appointment on Wednesday so I should know more then - will be sure to post about it.
Gee it sounds like you have a real bad bug there and the 4th antibiotic and inhaler - it must have a really good hold on you - hope your feeling a lot better soon.. Spring is a wonderful time for all but those who suffer from hay fever and I truly feel for you...
So exciting times for you too! get to see your new bionic parts!!! WOW!!! Hope the OS doesn't push you to do too much yet - 5 1/2 weeks is not that long really.
Take care and please let us know how you go.

@fulafoto Just checking in to say hi. I see things are moving along with your pre -op appointment coming up on Wednesday and then before you know it your big day will be here. Take care, just a little longer and you will be on the other side. So happy and excited for you:)

Hi everyone - well another time I come away from Bundaberg Hospital in a state of depression and anxiety!

Firstly saw the nurse who was brilliant - really nice and very, very helpful (same one as last time who had the THR at age 33). All bloods and urine are fine. One question for the nurse - do I need my medications in their original packages? Answer was yes - they need them in the original packets to make sure they give you the right thing - great one question - one answer!

Next onto the anesthetist, just ONE of the anesthetists he was quick to point out - not the one who will be seeing me on the day of the op. Went through medical and all - EKG is good - so I ask - what type of anesthesia will I be having? You will find out on the day - it will be the decision of the anesthetist who will be seeing me. So two questions - one answer.

Onto the doctor - I would say OS but I don't think she was - she introduced herself as one of the doctors on duty.... so humph I think - I hope she has some answers to my questions.... Goes through my medication and health history - all good. Stop taking aspirin 14 days before the op (which is today) fine - no worries.

So I ask - what approach will be used - not sure - it will depend on the surgeon and the complexity of my hip the OS will discuss with me prior to the surgery. 3 questions - 1 answer.

Will I have a period of non weight bearing due to my cyst - won't know until after the operation 4 questions - 1 answer.

Next question - how long do you envisage me being off work? - can't say, check with surgeon after the op. 5 questions - 1 answer.

Will I be able to use the surgical scrub solution on my psoriasis? What psoriasis???? She looks at it - it is a slight red 'smudge' at the moment on my hip, no scaling, no inflammation.. she says I will have to get rid of it - I then tell her that I have had it since 1995 and it has never looked better than now and what method does she suggest for me to get rid of it? She refers to the specialist via the nurse - OS is too busy to see me today - that is to walk 20 metres and have a look at my psoriasis (this will be the 4th time it has been looked at) so another appointment is made for me for next Wednesday for 'someone' not sure who, to have a look at it - that is a 90 minute drive for me compared with a 20 metre walk for him - I offered to wait until he was free but sorry - he wasn't going to be free at all today.....

I was led to believe that healing is assisted a lot if you involve yourself in the detail and become active in participating in the procedure.. that is one reason I joined here (but all you guys are the reason I have stayed!) but it appears that going public here in Queensland - that is all out the window - I said to my DW that I will not have any information until I am on the guerney outside the theater I reckon - so much for active participation - I feel like a piece of meat!

OK rant over - now to pick that dummy up again and put it back in (funny - I only seem to spit it after visits to the hospital)

@fulafoto, lots of unanswered questions and all good ones. I understand your frustration and feeling depressed. Maybe @Josephine can shed some light on how psoriasis is usually dealt with when having surgery.

Thanks so much @bottomshollow - I know Jo has discussed it previously on my thread and the nurse who saw me today (and also saw how scaly it was last time) said it looked really good and she thought there was no worries about it but her words, with a resigned smile, were "But I am only a nurse" She was of the opinion that as it is not a contagious thing and quite localized it would be fine.

Oh Bill @fulafoto I'm so sorry you had an awful time again.

I think you probably saw a registrar who is usually an orthopaedic surgeon in training. They do all the ground work for the surgeon but they often change from visit to visit and have to check with the OS. I wouldn't bother going to the appt next week unless they tell you who you are seeing because its a waste of time. It is also not good enough that you can't get some of your basic questions answered!!!!

This happened with my mum during her cancer treatment, the rudeness and inability to read mums file properly left me reeling and thinking that it was unbelievable that this woman was a Dr.....I had more common sense than her. She left my mum half dressed on the table while she took a call on her mobile about her parking spot as well!!!!

I hope that on the actual day you get some answers!!!!

We are here with you!!!!
