Hi
@Phoenix1
I'm sorry you are experiencing pain and its concerning you.
You will notice that I merged your newest post with your original recovery thread...we prefer that you only have one recovery thread so that we have all your information in one place. This makes it easier to go back and review your history before providing advice.
Having only one thread will act as a diary of your progress that you can look back on.
Please post any updates, questions or concerns about your recovery here.
If you prefer a different thread title, just post what you want and we will get it changed for you.
If I understand you, it sounds like you are walking longer distances and more after not being quite so active?
I, too, had anterior approach and the incision and surrounding tissue was very tight for the first few years so do you think stretching it with a longer gait for longer periods may be the culprit?
The incision scar may cause pain in several ways. Sometimes, the pain is due to skin tightness, which may make it more difficult to move freely.
You could try gentle massage and keeping it moisturized with shea or cocoa butter.
In rarer cases, scar tissue pain occurs due to nerve damage resulting from the original injury. If the wound was deep and affected nerves or tendons, a person might have long-term symptoms, such as pain or numbness, in the affected area.
Some people experience scar tissue pain as a result of fibrosis, which occurs when the body grows an excessive amount of scar tissue. Fibrosis causes adhesions that may lead to ongoing pain, inflammation.
My guess is that it is tight and pulling now that your gait is improved... unless you've noticed any unusual redness or swelling.
If it very painful or worsens, a call to your OS could be in order to help you figure it out.
