Good morning @
Nana moon 27 - how are you doing today? Ready for your hot date with the Frenchman??
I'm fine - really. Just counting the hours until my appointment tomorrow with the OS - that will hopefully tell me so much more about whats going on. When the knee was first done, I launched into physio quite happy in the knowledge that I couldn't do any damage to the joint even if it hurt a bit - and I carried that with me even if the odd exercise was a bit tough. Now however, I need to know whats happened so that I get that same confidence back as I am currently concerned that I may be doing further damage, even with the baby bits I am doing.
My knee ached a lot in the night again - but I am not sure how much of it is stiffness. To be quite honest I'm having trouble remembering how it felt before this happened - at this rate I will be useless explaining things to the OS tomorrow! I think its bending a tiny bit more, and my walking is certainly better. My PT rang this morning, which was sweet of her, just to see how things were going. She's pleased I am seeing the OS, although she told me that she doesn't suspect anything dreadful as I can weight bear without problem. In fact I am most comfy standing up and moving around.
I am just about to ring and cancel a dental appointment I have next week. Before my TKR I had 3 dental implants (yeah - this has been my time for shoving bits of metal in my body) - and I am due back to have the crowns fitted. This means slitting the gum to expose the implant and screwing the 'teeth' in place. You know what? I can
so do without this at the moment - the thought of a sore mouth and the knee, is more than I deal with. There's no rush, so I am wimping out and cancelling for a while.
My 'red carpet' trip is going to have to wait - but that's fine. I've explained all to my best friend down there (she is a retired GP and her husband an eminent but retired neurosurgeon) and she will spread the word and delay the jollities until I am moving about easily again. Her comment was: 'it is rare for major surgery such as this, not to have a complication or setback at some point'.
Enjoy your day and thanks for thinking of me. I truly am OK, it's just the niggle of not knowing .....
Hope your physio is really successful ........ talk later.
