MUA New Knee #2 Recovery<

Went to my pt evaluation today. Mainly just wanted to see 2 things: what my measurements are and if they are still of the same mindset as before.

We are still on the same page as far as pt goes for now..all we did was gentle stretches and she massaged my quads as they are extremely sore and massaged the knee area, especially where the blood is pooling.

She took measurements of my left knee 1st..its 125/0 so all good there still. Measurements for my right knee are 90/15 (all me, no help). She was thrilled with the numbers seeing how its just coming up on 2 weeks. So all in all an ok day at pt. We are moving Saturday so I will be only be 7 minutes away from the pt place. Said to definitely stay on the walker as well.

The move will be interesting. Even though I physically wont be doing anything, I know I'm still going to be exhausted. But it will be nice being back on the bottom floor and not feeling so isolated.

Happy Halloween :yikes:

You’re moving Saturday?????
Good luck and try not to join the ODIC.

I have outpatient PT today and I’m curious to see if it will be as productive as Monday’s session. 2 days/week is plenty for me, but they want 3. Not happening yet.

Yes I'm not thrilled about the move but I had already scheduled my surgery and by the time we knew we could move (this is all Harvey related) his only dates left were the week right before Christmas and I want to be somewhat back to normal by then as our grandchildren live with us now and it will be the first Chtistmas we've spent with them. So here we are lol. Plus I've already met all the deductibles this year. The plan is for the loveseat to get to the house first so I can just sit and recline and rest. My son will be there to help with ice packs and such. Should be interesting!

@beachy good luck at pt today. I'm also only going 2x for now.

@Larryhg3 thank you!

We were flooded out of our house when they released the water off Lake Conroe in the middle of the night. The house was a one story and we had 4.5 ft of water in the house so pretty much lost everything. That's when I finally blew the left knee out. But we faired better than others and managed to get one car to high ground so I'm thankful for that. It was definitely one for the books.

Wow, @Txmomgmom3 I’m so sorry that happened to you and so many others.

I hope the move goes well. Please do what you can to protect your new knee. I’m sure it’s going to be hard to not want to do stuff yourself. :console2:

@Jockette thank you. It's going to drive me nuts lol. I packed up my china and a lot of non essential things prior to surgery. It's not being able to do a lot of unpacking that will drive me up the wall. But I will not over do it, at least that's what I'm telling myself :heehee: Day of move my husband will make sure I don't do anything. He's pretty much put his foot down lol

I live in Delaware, and one of these days a hurricane is going to hit close by. I think Sandy hit N.J. and NY a few years ago, but we lived in Ohio then.

I was watching Florence to see if she went further north than expected. I looked around my house and wondered what I would really try to save, if I had to evacuate and come back to my house having had feet of water in it.

It was odd that the man thing I wanted to save was my wedding dress. I will certainly never wear it again, and I’ve never even taken it out of the box it’s in, after it was cleaned 42.5 years ago.

I could see that anything I wanted to save would have to go up on something secured, like the top of the kitchen built in pantry, and similar tall built in cabinet in my bathroom. I would think just basic furniture would move around in 4.5’ of water.

Hugs to you as you continue to live through that experience. I tear up just thinking about what you must have gone through. :console2:

It was difficult when we were able to return and I still have my moments but we just kept putting one foot in front of the other. I have a whole new appreciation for the power of water. It took my sons solid oak dresser and moved it to the other side of his room. It was just crazy

Wow! I’m so sorry that you were flooded! That has to be scary and heartbreaking.

What a terrible thing to happen to you. Thank God you all made it through OK. Now, when you get to your new home, no unpacking for you! Let everyone else do it. Just tell them where you want things! I know how we girls are. We want to do it ourselves, but now is not the time for you to do it!

@sistersinhim thank you. Yes we girls do like our things in their place. That's going to be the hard part for sure. Especially the kitchen :heehee:

@beachy the move is getting there but it's been slow going and its driving me nuts lol. It's hard as I'm not in control of anything and I couldn't help get things moving but it is what it is. Knee is doing ok..I unpacked a box here and there but mainly just sat with my knee elevated and icing and watching my tablet. My quads are what's really hurting me..think I came close to the ODIC but stopped myself lol

@Jockette thank you I will be careful. Have already decided to cancel pt tomorrow unless I can just have them do the massage part they do. Although all I'm doing is light stretching and massage at pt I don't know if I want to even do that lol.

I just have to let it all go. My sweet son (who is mildly autistic and has cerebral palsy) has kept asking if he can help, tells me to sit down etc. I found him unpacking all the pantry items and putting them away today. It's not exactly how I would have organized it but he was so proud of himself it just made my heart swell. Think I will just leave it as is.
