BarbieJ

Hi honey, which threads are you referring to, maybe I can help you if you give me more information?

I so feel for what you are going through, you are a strong beautiful woman determined woman, who won't give up on the issues you have. Is the estrogen cream helping with the IC?

12 MORE DAYS
I have 12 more days of work. I don't know how I will make it that long. It's getting harder and harder for me to walk. I need my cane when I leave the house. I have a small house so I manage by holding on to furniture or walls. I have lesson plans for each day and supplies out and organized for the next month and a half.
Oh and BTW, I have a root canal scheduled for April 24. Scared to death, not of the root canal, I have had one of those before, but of what I believe may be ahead of me because things have been going so wrong for me. It's really unbelievable. I want to have a happy ending. One day.
I walked Cubbie this afternoon. So warm. Almost 70 degrees. Lovely. I don't like walking him and using a cane, but I will just to be outside with my beloved doggie so happy. It cheers me up too.

My twice a week estrogen cream has been helping me with my IC, Poppet. I also just started using a cortisone cream called Analpram for my anal rectal pain. I went to a colorectal surgeon last month who prescribed it after doing a scope exam and not finding much. I have a hemmorhoid. My hips and groin just increasingly hurt.
I am glad to be on the estrogen and not the other medication that my urologist had me on. It's been one month for me off of the antihistamine which I think played a role in destroying my stomach.
The posts that I am thinking of that are closed are people who had infections.
Never heard how they ended up.

So pleased that there is a hint of improvement for you BarbieJ .. So important to become our own health advocate.

The reason some threads are closed is due to lack if activity on the part of the member.. But ask away with your questions we can usually answer most of them xxxx hugs from down under!

It's like reading a book but you aren't allowed to know how it ends.
And I always like a happy ending.

We are going to help you BarbieJ supporting you to your happy ending ... The body is amazing and it never ceases me as a Natural Medicine Practitioner how I see over and over, give the body the support and it will heal itself...

You will get there xx

THREADS
Can anyone tell me how a thread becomes Closed for further comments? What is the process to make that occur?
When I read one and it ends that way it's so hard. I want to know how they are coming along.

Hi Barbie,

You can always try sending a private message to the person whose thread you have been reading -- maybe you'll hear back from them as sending a private message usually triggers an email to be sent to the recipient.

You can also try to tag the person in your own thread and see if it brings them out to respond -- some people still log in to read through the forum but just don't post any longer. Some people just read threads in the forum without logging in.

I hear you, it is natural to be curious about how someone is coming along. Threads often become closed after a few months of inactivity as there is a lot of turnover in the forum on both the pre-op and post-op sides.

Glad you and Cubbie made it outdoors into the sunshine today :)
Take care,
Cardie

I believe I answered Barbs question about closed threads :)

Poppet, you and all of the others here will never know how valuable and humbled I am that you have taken a moment out of your day to respond to my thread. I know there are many many new ones out there every day and I am eternally grateful.

I am not alone because I have bone smart.
Thanks C Mac, I appreciate the additional info.
Even though my story at this point is not a pleasant one, i hope someone out there can learn and not make the mistakes that I have made. If I had to do it over, I would not have put my faith in my doctors and dentists before my surgery assuring me I would be fine and that I had TMJ.

We are going to help you through this BarbieJ and Cardie has a wealth of knowledge :)

You are part of a very supportive, caring, nurturing and informative environment.. If we don't have the answer, we research your topic for the latest scientific information...

Try to focus on the future, day by day move an inch forward, we all fall into the trap of looking back with regrets, I know I do!

Hugs xx

PAIN
I am scared right now. My pain increases with every day. Yesterday I woke up and I had a red rash on my surgical scar and down my thigh. It felt like a burn. It went away after an hour or so. I also have Purplish red dots that come and go all over my body but mostly they appear on my hip. Since they disappear its been hard to have them during a doctors appointment. I itch from head to toe. I have had terrible itching for a year now and it is spreading. It was only my hip then. Now it's progressed to abdomen then, back and neck. Now my face itches too.

My ability to walk is more and moe painful by the day. I am using a cane when I leave the house. All I can do is go to the grocery store or doctors office. Then I must go home and lie down. It takes three hours for pain to calm down.
I have been using analpram for pain at rectum and it is not doing anything. I still have daily bladder pain. My bladder pain is bad at the Two hour mark. Three hours is my maximum.

My dentist insists I do not have a dying tooth AGAIN but my tooth pain is increasing. The lazer light therapies have not done anything. Finally scheduled an appointment with an endodontist myself. I don't have an appointment for a week and a half. My dentist did vitality tests, cold, tooth sleuth, electric impulse, xrays, etc and said he felt my tooth was still good. Thinks its a neuralgia or TMJ or something. This is what my previous dentist said before my hip replacement. Trusting him got me into the tragedy that I am in right now. Even endo before my hip surgery did not see the problem.

Before I had my hip replacement, the patient education said if you have a problem go to your dentist or doctor immediately. What a joke. I have not been able to get in to see any doctor or dentist right away. I wait weeks to get an appointment.
I have an appointment at Mayo in one week about my hip and inability to walk.
I don't think I will make it that long. My blood tests on April 1 ( which I demanded from my primary) were normal for CRP and C reactive.
Temperature is normal.
I used to have a pain free life. I had terrible bone on bone hip pain but could sit for hours, eat, drink, and enjoy my family.
All of that is gone for me. Sitting is too painful. Eating is minimal with my restrictions from IC and gastroparesis and rectal pain.
My days are spent mostly lying down in bed.
My brother told me that I need to search deep in my soul and find my reason to live. I am having a difficult time understanding how I can continue in this place of pain.
:boohoo:

APOLOGY
I am sorry to unload here on my thread. I am scared and worried and have no one to tell my concerns to. I have not told my children how bad I am,although when they see me it's clear to thm that I am sick.
I really feel so bad for my family to have this happen.
Today I will go to the radiology building to pick up my copies of X-rays and scans to take to Mayo. On Tuesday I picked up my medical records from my primary doctor. It also has all specialists reports. It is the size of a binder and it is only one year!

Before my surgery I would have had almost nothing for five years. Just flu shots and annual check ups. :gaah:

Hi Barbie, I just found your thread and am so sorry for all that you are going through. I also have had a rough time since my RTHR and understand being scared and worried. I dont like to unload on my loved ones either and am somewhat relucant to do so even here.....dont want to scare the newbies away. I was so pleased that you will be going to Mayo Clinic. They have an exceptional reputation and my personal experience there for other health issues has been positive. I will probably eventually go there also for a second opinion re my infection, unfortunatley its quite a distance for me to travel now. Hang in there.....take one day...one hour...one moment at a time.

Thank you for coming by and connecting with me Quee-Knee. I need my friends here so much right now. Could use a hug too.
Mayo is a distance for me too. Three hours away. I am hopeful for you. You are still early in your replacement. I am 17 months out.
I hope my bone smart friends don't get tired of my dreary posts.

I truly wish I had good things to post.
My doggie has been staying very close to me too.
Recently it has become painful for me to take him for his walks.
I envy you. Sounds crazy right? But I cannot clear up my chronic problems, which make things so scary. My teeth are all falling like dominoes. I have been to two dentists and two different endo docs and they have told me they have never seen anything like this. Makes me wonder if correcting this is even possible. If I were to need a two stage, would more teeth fail? Would I get a UTI? Would I lose my ability to eat? Really this is unbelievable.
Okay I will post a good thing.
My husband is coming home from work to take me out to lunch. He is a wonderful man that does not deserve all of this. Again, thanks for being so kind and saying something to me. I had to quit work so am always nearby ready to say hello.

I think I feel most guilty for putting my husband through all of this. I sometimes filter my concerns that I share with him about all of this because I cant wear him down to. He is also a good man and has been very supportive through out all of this. We both retired early so that we could "play" or do fun things that we couldnt do while working. Well this hasnt been fun but I remain hopeful that those times will come. I have had periods of despair but am now hopeful......its hard but try to never lose hope. Out for lunch with hubby sounds wonderful.....mine takes me to MickyDs for breakfast when I get down (he insists I order the senior coffee as another way to tease me - they dont question my age probably because of the walker I still use ....and it has nothing to do with my prematurely white hair!).

Hay how are you. I been real busy trying to get my life back. The thing I have decovered is that we make the right decision with the information that we have at that time. We can not see the furture. Nor will we know how its going to turn out. Are you taking pain pills for your pain? It sounds like you could use them right now. Espically for the teeth and the hips. Just because I haven't been posting here doesn't mean I am not thinking of you. We will get you to the finish line. You are eating right? I know when I was real sick with my hip I didn't eat right when I was in so much pain. I started paying attentions and just that alone helped me. Mayo is a good medical place. Take a day at a time and you will get there. Don't give up. The answer is out there and you will find it. Please take care and do hug your dog today. Tashia

BarbieJ I can't do anything except send you hugs and love from England. Being able to ask questions and get support from other Bonesmarties is a lifeline and don't worry about dreary posts - we have all been there and it's great to have somewhere to unload without upsetting our loved ones. I hope you enjoyed your lunch with your husband, what would we do without them? Mine is a treasure! Eating healthily was part of the advice given by my hospital at the pre-op "hip school" to help with recovery - not sure that Quee-Knee going to MickyD's would be on the list. Yes, we have them in England and I could go a Big Mac and fries right now!
The USA seems to be having a tough time, hubbie was a London Fire Brigade Officer throughout the 1970s when there was a lot of bombing here so Boston has our sympathies and it sounds like Texas has lost some of its finest today. One of our sons is now a firefighter so we feel the pain. Live for today, you never know what tomorrow will bring - I'm still hoping for the lottery win!
:friends:from Anne

It's been raining, well rather flash floods and inches of rain not just April showers. It has all of us down especially where I live in Iowa, Boston is a really beautiful city with wonderful people and everyone in America is heartbroken by all of the sad news.

BarbieJ, When you have these rash and dots do you have a hospital you can go to so they can see them? I know its ruff when you live far away. Can you take pictures of them so they can see what they look like. Also have you kept a record of them. I am wondering if you are allergist to something other than the inpleant. This type of record would really be helpfull for them. Just a thought. I know this is lot of questions but the answer is out there. Please take care. Tashia

BarbieJ

I am wondering how acid your system is?

Have you tested your urine for the Ph Barb?

An acidic body, deep in the cells can cause intense itching all over the body and red itchy rashes... maybe something to consider?

I find pure virgin coconut oil can ease the itching as it is highly alkaline :)

Hang in there we are here to support you :)
