Yep, something nerve wise is up. I went from constant levels of pain whether at rest or walking,etc. My pain level today is not even a 1.

Also, the inflammation is way down I have been running errands for a few hours.

Crazy that us patients have to figure this out. Let's hope it continues, at least I believe the root cause is definitely a nerve issue not psoas rubbing,erc

Hello, thought I would give a quick update, it’s been two years since my hip replacement. My hip is doing pretty good. I am riding about 40 miles a week of mountain bike, also doing workouts at the gym.

I still get some swelling and pain on occasion weekly. I think after 3 surgeries on my right hip it will never be perfect. My left hip all my natural parts is holding up. I have arthritis in that joint but still have a lot of joint space. It only bothers upon deep flexion.

One problem area I have still on the right is the lateral glute medius and glute minimus intersection. It causes pain down the side of my hip and some into the glutes. I have scheduled a Tenex procedure on Wednesday. Basically you go in via small opening and it removes scar tissue and rejuvenates the tendons. The surgeon stated it may or may not work. It’s a 20 minute procedure so I will give it a shot.

Had the Tenex procedure done today. Took a total of 25 minutes. A small opening in cut into the area and then and ultrasound wand is inserted. It basically grinds away the scar tissue, very odd sensation. The surgeon said I had a lot so hoping for a good outcome. He prescribed some pain medication so resting comfortabl.

Hello, Happy Holidays to all. It’s been two weeks since the Tenex procedure. I still have some residual bruising in the area.

So far, it’s relieved 70 percent of the pain I had on the lateral/glute area. I can sleep on the side with no pain. I plan to start riding bike this week, once the weather gets better.

I am hopeful the pain stays away but will update in a week after riding bike,etc

Hello, I thought I would give a quick update. The Tenex procedure definitely got rid of 70 to 80 percent of my residual pain in the lateral/posterior part of the hip. I still get sore but i attribute that to the muscles and tendons finally working properly.

I think surgeons need to look at excessive scar tissue for residual pain/issues after hip replacement. My guess some people scar more than others internally. Stinks I was like that from 2017 and no surgeon was able to figure it out. Water under the bridge now

I rode mountain bike 8 miles yesterday and worked all day in the garage. Hip did not hurt at all.

So glad it ended up being a great solution for you. I remember the first 3-5 months post replacement, I had some awful lower back issues that developed and I was not able to find the answer as to the cause. People like you posting updates and feedback can change someone's life in the future. Super grateful you took the time and thought to do this.

No problem. I have been to hell and back with these hip surgeries.

Anything I find to help others I always post. Unfortunately most surgeons are very text book after the initial surgery is done. They do not seem to think outside the box.

Exactly it. Those of us who have gone through heck and back with surgeries trying to get some quality of life, have learned the hard way that you need to fight for your health and ask questions and push for answers. I can totally relate to this as I have had about a dozen surgeries on my hips alone(other ortho issues related to injuries).

Check my thread as well LaKarune, because I just had a dual mobilioty joint put in in February 11 months ago. Unfortunately there arent many of us with them. It's becoming more common but it is hard to find information on them.
