So time for the monthly update, been 6 months. Have to say, feel much more normal , averaging 8000 steps per day, gym on tuesdays and thursdays before work. I actually climbed up 6 flights of stairs at work last week, made it , more of a out of breath challenge than physical.
Walked the dogs up the lake trail the other night, nice to go up a steep trail, no traction or pain issues.
We get in hot tub almost every night , I work at stretching the leg back,
The ankle is still tender, i wear a small brace that fits in my shoe.
Riding bike at gym , need to get the outdoors bike out!
Thanks everyone on this forum for the inspiration guidance and help, especially @Josephine for starting and maintaining this .
Mike

I find going up a hill much easier than coming back down. I still down have that confidence that my new knee won't give out like it did when it was old! Mike, you are doing great for 6 months!

I have a little bit of experience with scar tissue after my knee surgery. My surgery was 4 years ago and I tried a lot of therapies to get the bend. I was offered an MUA and said no. I was offered arthroscopic surgery and said no. I believe that my PT pushed me too hard and caused the problem. I found this site after all this happened to me.

I found a chiropractor who massaged the scar tissue out of my knee at 3 years out. I went 3 times a week for two months. I must confess it was very painful to do it. But I went from 90 to 105. This is certainly not optimal, but it's functional for 90% of my life. Most importantly the knee does not hurt.

I hope you find something that helps you.

@Mscant - Did you mean to post this in Mike's thread? I don't think he has any problem with scar tissue. He's doing well.

10 months wow time flies. Feeling pretty good, knee is strong and effective. Still sore at times, tripped on a root on trail last week, banged it good along with my arm when I fell.
Been going to gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays before work to work out, cardio, leg work, and arms back and chest, legs get pretty sore and I do ice the knee when needed.

Had to get some chiropractic work done on back after stepping in a hole at work, found out from my regular masseuse that my entire butt leg and new new was locked up as she called it. She works it every month. I started stretching it pretty hard, got a stand up desk for work, doing a lot better, walking with a better stride and much faster.

Good report at doctors, AIC down to 5.5, lost 50 pounds they were happy!

We bought a house back in Lancaster NY where we are from. Spent a couple of weekends orking there. Stairs in basement aggravate the ankle, but recovering. Plan to retire there in a few years, hopefully sooner.

Also my sisters had to go to Akron Ohio to rescue my uncle living by himself with dementia. They brought him to Buffalo to an assisted living place. So I flew down on a Saturday night, rented a car in Cleveland, packed his furnishings and clothes, rented a big Uhaul truck and had it loaded by movers. Then I drove it back to Buffalo. They moved it into his new apt the next day, whew! Talk about tired!

Work is nuts, we moved 15 families in , only 430 to go! Crazy job 20 floors of stairs, elevators are working now!

Love BoneSmart, I owe you a donation for a great site and forum. Ready to take on bigger hills and the mountains, soon!

Be good everyone , god bless!
