Yep, sometimes trial and error is a fact of tkr life. Hope you enjoyed a little rest today.

I rested for a while and then made a stir fry for dinner. Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight.

Just a reminder. With all the meds we're stuffing in our gullets daily, our kidneys are working 24/7 to get rid of them. Help them out by drinking tons of water. 8 glasses a day I think should be a low value. Drink up!

Today is about 6 weeks on the other side. I have a PT eval in a few hours and she was hinting that she was going to kick me out also. I'm getting a complex. First the hospital, then rehab and now PT wants to get rid of me. :)

Here I am, icing with my cool ice machine before pt, communicating to you around the world on my phone with my Kindle at the ready to read any one of millions of books and my cordless phone next to me to answer without having to unhook myself with it announcing who's calling so I don't have to answer if I don't want to.
Ain't it fun living in the future?

Hi Jeff where did you get your polar cube and how does the frozen bottles work thanks Shannon

Hi @cocodelight it was a nice gift from the hospital? OS? I woke up with it on, with the y adapter and both pads and the said it was mine to keep! The frozen bottles work well in a pinch but I noticed the straight ice is a little colder. I change off depending.

One more official PT appt. My PT said I'm back to normal and I don't need them anymore. Well, when I iced today my knees actually felt colder! This means the healing part is almost done, but the strengthening part is just beginning.

Yes, it seems you're well on your way. I am no longer doing PT too, and doing fine. But I'm still very tired (I'm a week ahead of you). How are you doing with fatigue?

BTW, thanks for the reminder about the water. With our focus on the knees, it's easy to forget the kidneys.

I'm OK most of the time with energy drain. I can't schedule too many events during the day add by the evening the tank is nearly empty. If I do overdo it one day I really feel it the next, but all in all, it's a slow, normal life. Thanks for asking!

I saw my first client today! I'm back in the saddle again! I felt fine, walking, making some quick turns and speaking coherently!
Afterwards, parking at home, it was raining hard and I tried to take a few running steps. . Not quite. Felt like the muscles couldn't support the extra weight yet. I suppose that will come after a lot of strengthening.

OK I'm officially getting really annoyed with the Phantom burning around my scars. I have to keep rolling up my cargo shorts to get it under control. I know I've asked this before but I'm still waiting for an answer.
So, I suppose I should channel the omniscient Josephine by invoking her mystic moniker. @Josephine can you hear my plea? Yea, I shall hear and comprehend. ..

Jeff,
When my scar burns, I massage it and it seems to go away. I also rub gently it with a small cloth to help desensitize the area.
Glad to hear you are back at work!

I'll have to try that. Thanks for the tip.

Like I said it isn't major but still annoying and weird also as I get two distinctly opposite feelings at once Both the scar being numb and burning at the same time. Others have mentioned it's the cut nerves healing from deeper tissues but the feeling is transferred to the surface. Since I've never had an operation like this before I have no prior experience with this type of pain. I guess my body still has tricks yet to reveal.

I had these weird "zingers" that migrated around the knee and the scar. It was definitely the nerves reconnecting, at least for me.

Healing is very much like an infomercial..."but wait, there's more!"

Hey @JustJeff & @hopefaith, as well as my copious coffee intake, I also make sure I drink at least 1 litre of sparkling water a day. I bought lots of 500ml bottles and have 2 a day. It makes sure my water intake is kept up. :)
