@speaking of get off your piriformis. What are some good stretches for this. I am in a lot of pain again the past few days. I got in that muscle with a tennis ball and oh my. It is SO sore!

The photos that @referee54 uploaded are good for IT band stretching. I'm going to try it later. Steps, both up and down taken slowly, like PT, are good for quads.

[QUOTE="gazelle7777, post: 616401, member: 10385"It will be one full year on June 4 since my surgery - I forget I had surgery now they feel so normal![/QUOTE]

That's the day I am waiting for!

I'm just taking it a stretch at a time. :) I've already achieved far more than I had hoped this early so it's all gravy from here on. :)

To be honest. I never thought that this would happen, but I can now go for days without thinking about the idea that I have knee implants. They feel like they have been there forever, and I have no issues at all.

Jeff,
I use ice massage over those extra sore areas, it really makes a difference. Try it before deciding the ice machine is enough. Ice massage works in a different way, I think you will like it. You can also pinpoint right where you want the cold. Only takes a minute or two. I take off my pants and put a towel under my foot, otherwise you have water everwhere. Quit laughing I know that is not a pretty sight.:heehee:

Lol! It would have gushed in the beginning when my knees were hot!

Ref is my hero!

Nope, ice directly on the skin, achy, burns, then numb in a few minutes, then stop. You do not want frost bite.

OK! Read you loud and clear. I'll do it outside on the deck. Won't care about a puddle. I took another bike ride tonight of about a mile. This is going to work well on strengthening my quads!

Where you are sore, avoid the scar until it is fully healed. Referee posted more information earlier. Works well for me, you have to try it to see how it works for you. It numbs the area, works fast.

Good news! I got in my kayak using a post op technique of straddling the back and working my way forward by myself! But I'm trying to stick to the shade as I forgot sunblock for the incision scars
Here's a shot of the turtles on this lake, "Giving Pond."

Woo Hoo! I got in and out by myself with no problems. Chalk up another victory to independence!

Yes, definetly the ice massage really works. @Pumpln. My OS was the one that told me to do the ice massage after my revision and I really found it helped a lot, just don't overdue, only 5-8 minutes at a time.

Just tried the ice massage. Wow! 2 minutes is all I could stand, but instant relief! I used it on the IT bands on the outside of both knees ensuring I didn't hit the scar. Short work of getting rid of pain! Now we see how long it lasts.
