Another milestone folks(well not really was just me being my usual daft (stupid) self). Got off the bed as if I have had nothing done and walked away into the loo with no sticks.. only when I ws on the way back in I started to feel a bit of a limp.....not ready for that yet.

Good sign though... Almost there :)

Hi folks hows everyone doing. Not a lot of change on my part.. feel progress is slow.. walking in house without stick but still feel I need it for outside. Feel I should be back at work by this point (10 WEEKS ON). not much in th way of pain mind you..a little discomfort after walking . Off all medication for a good few weeks now..

Sun is shining .....am feelin good  no more socks, sticks n meds yee haa!. Starting to feel human again at last... few weeks time I should be back to work .

feels good to know that life is about to become "normal" once again and pain free to boot!!!

clarabo Claire, you do sound ready! You've been more or less working anyway-- that was a huge order you described some days ago! I'd love to be the one to work with flowers...maybe a mousie under your kitchen table? :) Take a pic and display your work here?? teehee

Thanks for your support everyone....went in to help out at work on saturday they were short staffed...was not to bad at the time...wee bit sore today but hopefully it will tail off...doctor has given me few more weeks off so will have time to recover more...consultant visit on the 25th so fingers crossed its all good.

Just read your journey, interested in the aches and pains stories. I'm 6 months post bilateral THR and finding them a real issue so have booked to return to see the hospital physios for massage on Monday. Think you are doing really well, love the comment about the housework bugging you when left to others! Good luck x

Hi all....thanks for your comments again....good to keep in touch even when things are going well with everyone..its funny how no two weeks or days are really the same...was working yesterday so decided to walk down to school with my son in mornin before i was due to start.its about a 20 minute walk away...felt really good no pain with movement which is a huge relief ( only thing was strange feeling in movement walking because i feel my leg is a little higher up than the other. Will spk to os when i see him)
...on my feet all day til 4pm ....no pain..magic.......no pain later at night either just a bit of muscle fatigue due to not using them for such a long time.....a tad tired this morning but no hip pain at all ( touch wood because everytime I bragg about feeling fab something else crops up lol)....everyone and their granny asking all day yesterday how im doing and if its made things any better...great when you can say yes.....actually found myself encouraging some of my elder customers to get in there and get it done lol...he he well who'd have thought.:giggle:

Hi Claire... Great report.. So thrilled for you :)

Well the day finally arrived yesterday for my consultation....first I had spoken to anyone about my progress since my op on march 13th...had xray taken....looked mad... .big giant screws poking right out top and into my socket...:yikes: ..consultant pleased with it ....says that's both my legs same length now :dancy: ...asked about my pain so told him I had very little or none at all.. asked about any other issues and i asked him if my scar was keloid...he looked at it and asked me how i knew that and yes , i was right it unfortunately was...nothing i can do for it . He says some people are unlucky (that means me lol:groan: ) to have their scar develope like that....its not life threatening so im not really that bothered ..everything else looking really good and hes pleased with my progress so far. Dont have to see him again until march next year.....fab:yes!:

clarabo Great report  Brilliant that your OS is so happy with your progress and you dont have to see him again for a year. Ive got those srews too. Did you take a photo with your mobile of your xray? Sorry about your scar though. Maybe Poppet can give you some advice on whether there is something you can use on it ? Its great having legs the same length again. I still stand in front of the mirror and marvel at it :spin:

clarabo, absolutely have a remedy... Pure 100% coconut oil.. Massage it into the keloids and around your incision (which I assume by now is well and truly closed). Results vary but positive changes to the keloid can include.. flatening, less obvious and smaller in size, less itching and irritation and coconut oil is very good with all three symptoms. Be patient it will take time, but it will help. :)

Thats really strange... I bought some the other day for using as a hair conditioner ....will give it a bash iv nothing to lose ..thank you Poppet ....TeeEm. Didnt take a photo although wish I had done.... I think maybe the screws have something to do with lengthening the leg. I could be wrong .
