Me and my big mouth am going to put masking tape on it. Thought I was good to go with one crutch but seem to be a little sore today so back on both of them........ am saying nothing from now on . :hairpulling:?

clarabo Claire, I switched from the walker to a cane on Sunday and yes Monday a little sore behind my leg (like muscles I haven't used) I just iced it am keep on truckin. Are you steady on one crutch? I would check with someone more qualified like Josephine and ask what she thinks.

Was good yesterday but not today... feel like my leg is tight at the hip and thigh so feel kinda stiff walkin. I feel steady enough but there no use if I am to stiff to move. Think I will slow down wee bit for next few days. Think iv said this all of this before so need to actually do it this time.

clarabo Happy 6 week anniversary! Are you having a burning ceremony (like in the movie Mr. Mom with the child's whoopee blanket)? :yahoo:

Hi.....no harm in resting up...it is tempting to keep ongoing...must recover....must recover....but I am sure nature will take its course and in a couple of months time you will be like a spring lamb.... :)

Hey there my little wee Scottish girl... I missed you for a few days so had to pop on by and catch up with your progress. :)

So pleased you have reached your six week milestone - fantastic.. Even happier that you picked up that you need two crutches instead of the one.. This is not a backward step, just being very sensible... love it :)

Poppet... so glad you said that thanks. Can sometimes feel like I am failing or not doing enough to get fitter... feel strangely guilty for resting to much but I know I have to.....weather is rubbish again here so not missing much outdoors.

clarabo, Glad to hear you have got rid of the dreaded TED's I have just started again and have 6 weeks of them plus the blood thinning injections. I managed last time so I know it doesnt last long.
Take things easy. I know you are impatient to be off the crutches and walking again but it takes time.
Barbara

Elosarabrab. Hi barbara how are you feeling so soon after your op. Hope you are well. Amazes me how people can go right in and have another. You would have to drag me or drug me before I would go back in again.:yikes:
Hope its all plain sailing for you. Keep postin your progress.

Elosarabrab Barbara, I looks like you are doing well with your second operation. I guess I better look around for your thread and get caught up. Happy Healing Barb!

Hi Claire

Don't feel to down, my first hip replacement I recovered well but with my second hip I was a bit lazy and it took me a couple of months before I got myyself going. Do everything in small doses and make sure you ice regularly.
Where do you bide in Scotland Claire.

Billy

forbesy. I know I have zero patience. Want everything to happen yesterday. Live just outside glasgow where it rains for bout 10 months out of 12 and winter never seems to end. Flamin miserable to say the least.lol.......I know scotland is a lovely country in all but id sell m soul to the devil to live in the sunshine

The saying, 'the grass is always greener on the other side' comes to mind.. but is it clarabo, forbesy ...

Hi there Billy, how u doin mate? Just a bit of Aussie ocker! lol

clarabo, the decision to get second hip op was easy as I was in agony, I had to go on morphine and take sick leave from work. No way could I carry on like that. So getting to no more bone on bone pain is amazing.

id sell m soul to the devil to live in the sunshine

You took the words right out my mouth, Cappy lives in your kneck of the woods but haven't seen him for a while.
I live in auld reekie, we seem to get slightly and I mean slightly better weather in the east from time to time but the weather lately has been pants. Hail stones bouncing off my windscreen today thought it was going to crack.
Hope things will pick up soon for you, will be through your way soon as her indoors the daughter her hubby and son are off to a caravan in Ayr for a few days in May roll on the hail stones mind give me a wave when i pass.
The trip to Cyprus in October should cure all that though

What a day! Worked from home all day today from 9am til about 7pm. Had 10 bridal bouquets, 4 large ceremony arrangements and loads of corsages to make. Had a truck load of flowers brought to the house. Could hardly move in the kitchen the whole place was like a bombsite by the time I had finished.
Not much pain today thankfully. A wee bit uncomfortable because I was standing while working. Think I sat for a wee rest a few times but not much. Just glad to put my feet up afterwards and pour myself a beer:cheers:...

Hi Claire, you sure have earned the rest and the beer..

I'll bet the flowers looked spectacular and all that color would be good for the soul..

Take it I easy now :)
