THR Juanita's Hip Recovery

Just wanted to say thank you for all the replies:hugzz: I'm definitely going to be stopping the leg lifts I started having groin pain:dead: but I did do all of the upper body lifting . I really want to get fit and toned so my drs will stop blaming everything on my BMI, cause honestly I don't feel overweight :egypdance:@Layla I hope your Wednesday was great!! @Mojo333 and @inthebeginning I hope you guys are doing well:wave: today is 12 weeks for me and I feel better than I did just 3 weeks ago , onward and upward:yes!:

Keep up the icing for the groin pain.
As the forum Nurse recommends, ice for 40-60 mins, no less, several times per day.
Hopefully you'll be back to normal soon.
@Ryesgma

Please Don't let that Doctor's comment work on you and certainly don't let it make you overdo with exercise to the detriment of your new hip.
Just walking, which burns calories, is all that hip needs right now and you can even do too much of that.
In a few short months, you will be able to walk LOTS pain free and it is wonderful. I'm so happy I can walk pain-free!
We just want you to get healthy and happy and strong Safely.

Hope today is a Good Day, @Ryesgma :flwrysmile:

@Ryesgma
I know that my weight may have had some impact on my needing a revision. My BMI was around 38 when I had the first hip. After my sweeping change to Grain Free, Dairy Free and Sugar Free, the BMI is now at 28. Still overweight, but this has to be better for the second chance hip. BUT, I don’t want to screw it up so I will take it easier on the weights for a while and make sure this thing really grows into my bone.

We can only control of what we can control. The rest was set by the medical team that did the installation of our new devices! We are bound to take the best care of that device so that we may lead the most normal life. Walking is the most underrated exercise on the planet. There have been countless studies that prove that! Walking also happens to be the best thing for our new hips!

Keep up the good work!

Yeah...what he said :yes:
That inthebeginning makes some good points up there!

Get in some walking :walking:then a little more :walking:
Save the rest for later....you'll get there soon enough.
Happy Wednesday!
@Ryesgma

I have been trying to do as much walking as I can without any pain , I have another appointment with my os tomorrow I'm getting a little nervous about it because he will know that I quit my pt :scare: hoping that he doesn't blame my existing pain on the fact that I'm not doing physical therapy. Also hoping that I remember all the questions I have been wanting to ask :beg:we shall see how it goes. I really hope that you all are doing well and that you have a great day:loveshwr:

Oh and real quick I would like to know if I could change the title to my thread:praying:

Of course, you can get a new title! If you post your new title, someone will change it for you.

Hope the pt appointment goes well.. you shouldn’t have to worry what they say... you know your body better than they do...

I told mine when there was something I wouldn’t do to protect my knee... he agreed that would be a backward step to aggravate knee pain.

Water walking is just the best for the hip & knee... I’m doing it X 3 per week & the hip is fab!!! and.. the knee is bearable!

Appointment with my os went great!!! He agreed that I don't need formal pt . We both decided that at home excersises and walking is enough:yahoo: he said everything looks good and I won't have to see him again until 4/20 unless I have an issue than I can go back in :yes!: so now I'll have to still follow precautions and let it continue to heal and be amazing:spin:

Great to hear!:yes!:
Wishing you a good weekend!:SUNsmile:

:hi: Good news! You're on your way.
Take it slow :walking:
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
@Ryesgma

:hi: thank you for all the support and encouraging words , I hope you have a great weekend as well:yahoo:

Well I'm officially 12 hrs away from my next surgery and I'm a total wreck:shrug: hoping that they don't mess up my new hip doing this procedure. I will be back on here as soon as I get home which I'm hoping will be same day , I didn't stay even one night after my thr so fingers crossed:fingersx::angel:

Happy Monday :wave:
Wishing you comfort and all the best today. For those stopping by your thread, let's clarify it's a hysterectomy and not another hip surgery :wink: With any luck you'll be released today and resting comfortably at home soon.
Hugs
@Ryesgma

@Ryesgma hopefully you're already home and resting comfortably and get a good nights sleep. Check in when you're feeling up to it.
:sleep:

Happy Three Month Anniversary!
I hope you're doing okay after your procedure on Monday.
Will look forward to hearing from you when you're feeling up to it. :console2:
Rest easy!
@Ryesgma

Thanks for all the well wishes , my surgery went well and I was sent home the same day(after just 7hrs) I've been doing a lot of sleeping and trying to stay on top of the pain:flabber: I have noticed that I have more pain in my groin now (both sides) wondering how they had to position me during the procedure:chinstroke: I did however have iv antibiotics due to my hip replacement , unfortunately I have to have a catheter until Monday so I'm a little concerned about developing an infection hoping that's a non issue :angel:hoping that you guys are doing well
