THR Juanita's Hip Recovery

Oh and if I can change the name of my thread to Juanita's hip recovery?

I'm glad you are home and healing!:flwrysmile:
We will get that title changed for you.
Continued well wishes.:ok:

Well I'm glad I had this surgery done because it has forced me to rest and get better:dancy: my hip pain for now is almost non existent , and you guys have been great and your advice has been spot on:hugzz: hoping that everyone is having a good week and healing

Quick question I currently have a Foley catheter from my surgery on Monday and I think I might have a UTI :censored: I'm going to the urgent Care to make sure , how worried should I be that this will in some way affect my hip replacement?:cry:

This has been my biggest fear since having the procedure done , I can't afford to have my shiny new hip compromised in any way:beg:

Hi @Ryesgma :wave:
Wondering if you made it to Urgent Care and what you found out? Hopefully all is well.
Thinking of you and wishing you comfort and healing. :console2:

@Layla hope you are doing well:) :-) (: I did make it in to the urgent care and I do indeed have a UTI:tantrum: they gave me an antibiotic shot and sent me home with pills as well to clear this up:unsure:

Is there anyway that this infection will be able to travel to my new hip? I go on Monday to have my catheter removed so hopefully this is it :praying: I want to thank you for all of the good thoughts , hope all is well with u and that you are enjoying your weekend:loveshwr:

Is there anyway that this infection will be able to travel to my new hip?
Please don't worry. You are on antibiotics anyway. Just take the full prescription.

@Mojo333 it is great to finally feel better , I'm glad I made the decision to get my hip replaced:spin: I hope that you had a great weekend as well. I'm just really hoping that the infection I have now doesn't travel to my implant:beg:

@Jaycey I'm going to finish all my antibiotics and do whatever else they need me to do in order to keep this beautiful new hip perfect:thumb: I hope that you had a great weekend . :loveshwr:

I know I also was nervous about anything that could disrupt my good fortune.
I know you will be glad to get rid of that catheter and it sounds like your doctor was doing his due diligence with an injection and the round of antibiotics...
As Jaycey said...try not to worry.
Bad for our immune system.

Onward and upward @Ryesgma :flwrysmile:

Hi @Ryesgma
I understand your concern but please try not to worry. Carry on unless something stops you.
I bet you'll be fine in no time. I hope you have a wonderful week! :friends:
Happy Monday :)

@Ryesgma
Hi, I'm pretty sure there was another member here who had a UTI after having a catheter and was on antibiotics and all went fine, no infection. I worried so much too, I decided after 10 years to remove my nose peircing before surgery and let it close as I played with it all the time and did not want bacteria in my nose. I know you'll worry till this is past, but have not really read about anybody having that happen, so the antibiotics work especially you caught it right away...♥️

Thanks for all the words of encouragement:flwrysmile: I went yesterday and was able to have my catheter removed:yes!: I'm still on my antibiotics and feeling a little better everyday . They are still waiting for the urine culture results to make sure I'm on the right meds , hopefully I'm on the right ones now . I really hope you guys are doing and healing well :spin:

Good to hear you sounding well.:wave:
It's all uphill now @Ryesgma
Remember hip one shares my birthday date.
We shall celebrate together:friends:

Thank you for all the well wishes @Mojo333 :console2: I'm starting to get really worried now , my UTI is not getting any better and I still don't have results from my urine culture :nah: I have phone calls into my surgeon to let them know that the pain has gotten worse and it's also moved to my back . I am still waiting for a call back , I don't know how many times I have to tell them that I can't risk any type of infection going to my new hip !!! :censored:

Good grief...:sad:

I hope you get a call back soon. Keep drinking and I'll be praying you hear back soon.
Can your ob/gyn up/change your meds?
Prayers for all to be okay.:prayer:

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond but I went to the ER Wednesday and was diagnosed with cellulitis around my hysterectomy site as well as diverticulitis:eeeuw: so they put me in the hospital and I had IV antibiotics , finally got home tonight :yahoo: I'm really hoping that all this nonsense doesn't affect my hip replacement . I'm still in pain and on oral antibiotics for 10days all I can do now is pray that this treatment works and I can finally get back to a normal life:angel:

Hi there,
You've really been through a lot lately. I'm sorry you're struggling with so much at once.
THR recovery is enough in itself without a UTI, cellulitis and diverticulitis to deal with.
Prayers for comfort, healing and wellness. :prayer:
@Ryesgma

Sending thoughts, prayers and healing hugs to try to help you along.
:fingersx::angel::console2:

Good evening:wave: hope everyone is doing well , I've been home resting and doing my best to recover from all these new health issues. Was wondering if anyone knows what the chances are of these bad infections traveling to my new hip :shrug: I wasn't too worried when it was just the UTI but now with the cellulitis and the diverticulitis I'm starting to get a little more stressed . :sos:
