THR Juanita's Hip Recovery

Tommorow is the day:dancy: can't wait to meet with this os , hoping and praying for some answers to this ongoing pain .

Good evening ladies:wave: sorry it's taken me so long to respond re my 2nd opinion appointment , had to leave Friday for a last minute work trip to Arizona. Well the os I saw seems to think I have IT band syndrome plus bursitis and possibly psoas tendinitis:shrug: he wants me to do physical therapy and if that doesn't work he will order another hip aspiration and some other tests , I emailed him on Friday and said that I'm going to try the physical therapy but I want the other tests ran now because I'm tired of living in pain:swoon: so I'm waiting for him to get back to me . If anyone has any advice or info that would be helpful I would greatly appreciate it:angel:

GRACIOUS... and then a trip to Arizona on top of all of that.
This article by Josephine in our library addresses many of the issues your OS suspects.
It also has a great illustration showing where all these muscles and tendons are and how they relate to each other.
I've had more anatomy education post op than I remember in school:heehee:

Hope they get you scheduled for the injection soon and maybe you can also take a bit of down time.

Hi Juanita, Well, good for you for asking him to do the other tests, now, too! T?he links that Layla left you are very good.., it may help you understand the complexities of the hip a little better.
I just hate that you are still having such a time of it.
Please take care and keep us posted.. I'm afraid I don't have anything extra to add except to say that you are already in pain, so I hope you find a good P.T. that will respect that!
Pulling for you and for a speedy recovery from this.

Well I still haven't heard back from the os yet , I did however get a call from the place for physical therapy and they scheduled me for my first appointment on October 28th , I was like what the hell?!?! Couldn't believe it was so far out .:blackcloud:i then emailed my surgeon again and proceeded to tell him I needed him to get back to me asap or I would be calling member services and expediting this to the next level , I don't think it's right that they're leaving me hanging and in such pain for so long :no-fin: I'm at the end of my rope. I just want some answers and a resolution to this I don't believe that is too much to ask for. I feel really let down by my surgeon at this point it's like no one is listening to me or taking me seriously:tantrum:

Jeez! :nah:
I hope you hear back from him very soon.
So sorry this is so stressful.

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!
It's great to read you're being persistent. I hope you hear from your surgeon's office soon.
Hang in there, you're making some progress even though not as quickly as you'd like.
Wishing you comfort through it all.
@Ryesgma

@Ryesgma what kind of further testing were they going to do, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.
I was scheduled for a hip aspiration which I had done today , they were able to draw out fluid which they sent to the lab . :groan:so we shall see how long it takes to hear back from them . I have previously had both CT and MRI which were able to show scarring but not whole lot else . I'm in absolute misery 24/7 , pain levels are always at a 8-9 I refuse to take any more pain meds due to the fact that they make me feel like I'm some kind of junky at the drs office. I keep pushing forward and praying I will have an answer very soon because my quality of life is absolute **** at this point (sorry for the profanity)

Wishing for you the very best outcome. Your pain levels sound pretty intense. Glad they went ahead with the tests.. Please keep us posted.
I hope your days pass quickly while waiting for the results. :console2:

Good Evening @Ryesgma
You'll have to let us know the results of the aspiration once your hear. I certainly hope there's no infection. I understand this is rough on you.
Prayers for patience as you persevere. I hope the origin of your pain is revealed soon. Hang in there...we're here for you.
Wishing you a peaceful evening!

@Ryesgma I am sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Understand your frustration from the scope to the THR. Hang in there. What did they say they could do if anything with the scarring.

Is it still possible that you will will pursue a new OS for a second opinion?
I sure hate that your pain levels are so high...and I do hope you get results of the aspiration quickly.
Not very helpful...but virtual Hugsxxxx

Good evening , sorry I haven't gotten back in so long but I haven't been feeling well . I heard back from my os regarding my hip aspiration and I thankfully do not have a hip infection:dancy: I have since been back to see the surgeon who did my replacement and he has ordered an x-ray of my lumbar spine and a MRI of the same to rule out that the pain is not coming from my back , apparently they still are having a hard time believing me that the pain is coming from my hip. I am going tomorrow to have a flouro guided hip injection of anesthetic so it will be a definite that the pain is indeed in the hip and then I can proceed with my appointment on the 29th with a new os in a totally different area (panorama city ) can't wait. The pain just keeps getting worse and I'm exhausted from all the visits and tests , I just want to have this fixed and live a pain free life

Hate to hear you have not been feeling well...and pain is still not let up.
Will be thinking of you today as you go for your injection...I do hope it affords you some kind of reprieve.
Hugs @Ryesgma :console2:

I'm so sorry you continue to struggle with pain and uncertainty. Something's gotta give here. Possibly the MRI will reveal the origin of your pain, or rule out one more possibility. Will be thinking of you with the injection today. Please stay in touch.
@Ryesgma

Good evening , sorry it's been so long since I've been on here . I've been in Idaho on my girls trip to honor the memory of my best friend Paula who passed away in April:boohoo:we did some of the things she had on her bucket list that unfortunately she wasn't able to do . Thank God they didn't involve alot of physical activity . On a good note I met with the third surgeon on Tuesday and he thinks my pain is coming from my iliopsoas tendon and believes I will benefit from having arthroscopic surgery to release it . So we are going to move forward with the surgery , not sure of the exact date yet but I'm really nervous about it:shrug: he did caution me that if it doesn't work I could be looking at a revision , has anyone else heard of this being done? And my spinal X-rays showed no abnormalities he's sure my pain is from my hip .
