Natalie. Glad you were able to laugh at karmigirl's comment. Had to chuckle too.

I hope the meds kicked in and you were able to sleep a bit during the night. Might reassure Scott a bit too, you having a good rest.

Had a closer look PooShay... Luv those tats, they are cool.... [Bonesmart.org] It's been a long time.....

Thanks Pooshay I had about 3 hours.
Scott's not good at all I think maybe he is bored as he is a workaholic and having this time off not doing as much as he would at work and us not being able to go far is driving him a bit stir crazy

Sometimes I feel like that, Natalie. Such are the joys of retirement!

Natalie, hon.....are you seeing any improvement?

It can be very boring can't it Jo.

I'm afraid not Jamie I think I see some improvement and I use one crutch instead of 2 around the house or make a meal for the family and the pain soon reminds me I need to slow down :( One step at a time :)

Natalie,
Glad you have some improvement. Hope you get your disks with your scans soon.

Hi Nat,
Is the swelling and redness any improved?
I'm glad that you went to the ER. Are the increased doses of pain meds helping even a little bit?
I agree with Karmi, don't follow Sonia's example and try to remain upright....
You are right, even a "little" fall can be exaggerated in folks like us who have chronic pain.
Thoughts are with you.
xx
Sandy

Hey Sandy
The swelling and redness are still bad the swelling is worse today but I've been doing a lot more as my husband is back at work he has been so good while he was off helping out with housework etc so I was in a lot more pain last night and I am this morning from doing just daily housework but stuff that needs doing. The meds haven't kicked in for the pain yet but they are giving me plenty of side effects itching and sickness and sweating! He said it could take up to 72 hours to get a good balance so hopefully ill notice the difference today.
I promise that I will try and remain upright :)
Hope you're doing ok xx

I'm so annoyed the scans and records haven't been sent out because they are waiting for my records to be released from the surgeon :(

Natalie,
Sounds like you need a little more time for the medications to kick in, hope you notice a difference soon. Sorry the scans are taking so long to get, :hairpulling:.
Hope today is a better day for you.

He's in Australia they've taken everything off the computer and they have the scans and X-rays but the medical notes on paper are with my surgeons team and they won't release them till had the meeting next week as they are looking over them for the meeting which is fair enough but the other stuff could be sent to me now?!Anyway I rang and she said it was because I'd paid for one lot of postage and for all the records already and sending it out in 2 parcels it would be 2 lots of postal costs and she didn't want to not send me stuff that I'd already paid for!!
Honestly why didn't they just ring me and ask???

So I said send the scans and computer copies for now and I would wait for the others and collect them at my appointment!!I really didn't need all this I am sleep deprived in a lot of pain over emotional and going through some stuff with my daughter and having to make lots of phone calls today and wait already 2 weeks has made me so upset I'm not sure ill ever get a break....

Oh Nat,
When it rains it pours, huh?
I don't understand the thing with your records. You have requested a COPY right?
If they are sending you a copy then that means that THEY would also have a copy!
I think you are getting the big run around.

I hope that your daughter is OK.
xx
Sandy

Yes it's because the hospital I go to is under a trust which has 3 hospitals and the place where they do the medical records is a totally different hospital from mine it's about 10 miles away so they have requested they get sent over but there a big red sign on them saying notes must not leave hospital because my surgeons team are looking through them for the meeting,so they can't get copies of them until after the meeting.
I do understand this bit because hospital notes have a tendency to go missing!!

Natalie, your story tears me up! I can't believe the runaround you're getting. Please stay positive and hopefully this mess will clear! :console2:

Hugs to you....family issues on top of everything. I am sure that your family is feeling your pain. Try to give some extra hugs to your daughter. I assume she is a teen...and those years can be awful for the family.

Natalie,
I really don't mean to sound harsh. I just don't get your hospital and their records keeping system.
Here inthe US your records are yours to have and to hold if you want them, you might have to pay a bit for them but you can get a copy of anything at anytime, so you have one and the DR/hospital keeps one. One thing I don't understand is that someone told you there was nothingmore they could do and now the Dr. is using your records at a meeting (What for?). Please excuse if I am sounding stupid just trying to understand. I just feel so bad of you and my heart aches hearing the run around you have to go thru to just get these records. We really do care about you and really want to see you get better.
