Thankyou :) Because of my age I think mainly I'm only 32 and this one has only been in 18 months I think they will explore every option first, knee braces and maybe the removable casts some others have had an maybe even a scope to see if there is any diseased tissue.

Another night from hell the knee has startled twitching all the time I drop off and it throws itself in the air sending excruciating pain down my leg.It is also popping out when I move and when I put any weight through it OMG the pain is unbelievable I hate it :(

Aw Natalie, I am so sorry you are suffering! Have you started your new pain meds yet?

Just this morning Jaycey sonim hoping for good things I will let you know how I get in.

I've just been to make some breakfast and couldn't stand on my bad leg at all.

How you today?

Sounds like things just have to "kick in". Fingers crossed for you!

I'm doing OK. So glad it's Friday! Looks like the weekend is going to be great in terms of weather. Maybe a few hours of sun will help you feel better.

Glad all is well :)

Yes hubby said he might set up the lounger for me in the garden tomorrow, that will make a change from staring at the walls!

Ahhhhh - somehow the sun helps the healing. Wishing you freedom from that pain and some nice naps in the sun this weekend!

:Natalie, just saying hello. Sorry your not having a good day!! Hopefully your new meds will kick in and work!! Enjoy a soak in the sun tomorrow!!:sigh:

Hi Meg how you??

I'm ok the new meds aren't taking the pain away yet but wow do they make me drowsy!!Ive just had a slice of birthday cake and then threw it up!:scratch:

Hi Natalie;
I am so sorry you continue with pain.
I hope that the new pain meds help.
We have had lovely weather here in New England, and being in the warm sun just makes things feel better.
The pain meds may make you sleepy, but once your body adjusts, you will tolerate them better.
Best,
Sandy

Thanks Sandy I agree the sun makes everything seem so much better :) How you feeling today?

I've just sat on my adapted chair and folded the washing with the sun shining through the back door,it was a lovely feeling.

I've really enjoyed being back on the forum and I've been reading through lots of people's journeys :)

I see Nanamac (Janet) and Jak haven't been around for a while are they doing ok?

This place has given me some firm friends for life thanks so much Bonesmartie :)

Natalie, just having a place where people really do understand what you are going through is awesome to me. If I have a question, it gets answered, by many. Every little milestone, or minute improvement is cheered on, and we all feel proud. I love having a place where I don't feel like I am making things up and can get sympathy if I need it. BoneSmart is always here for us!! Hope you feel better!!!

A quick question guys I'm lay in bed and all of a sudden a funny pain has started in the back of my knee and top of calf at the back it feels like someone is sending little electric shocks through it?Very weird!Any ideas what it could be?

@Josephine:

Totally agree Meg it's a great place to come for help advice or just a chat xx

Hi Natalie! it sounds like you are having some nerve issues. My leg used to "fly" off the bed as well, and I'd have "zingers" for no reason at all. Have you had any nerve testing like EMG's, etc.? And oh yeah...when the leg goes flying and the zingers start, the pain starts too. Muscle relaxants helped me a lot...and helped stop the leg spazzing out. I hope the new pain meds are helping.

Hi
Audrey I thought it migh be a nerve thing the twitching has been happen Ing for a week or so but the zinging only happened tonight I had nerve tests before the replacement and it showed I had some problems but then the replacement became priority and nothing g was ever done.
My meds arent working at all yet :( I'm giving them time though.
Hope you're doing ok today xx

Natalie, I'm not sure what that pain could be. I'm assuming that you haven't been doing anything unusual in the past few days.

Did the pain come and stay with you or was it just hurting for a while and went away? If you moved your knee, was the pain better, worse, or just the same?

At any rate, I'll tag Josephine to see if she has any ideas.

No Jamie I haven't done anything unusual.

It stays for a a few minutes then goes away then a while later when I thought it had gone it came back its there in every position I put my leg but not when I get up to hop with my crutches to the bathroom.
