A ragdoll goes limp when you pick them up. Other than that he is no different than other cats. Very spoiled!

I have been having lots of back pain lately. I just attributed it to not using those muscles for the last year and half. Hope that's it, so it quits hurting. Being able to drive again was so liberating!!! Hated depending on my husband to take me everywhere. Bonzie, glad to hear that work went so well!!!

BarbaraR I understand. I, also, have had to compensate due to osteoarthritis. That is sad that you practically had to learn to walk again! Hope you are doing well!

Back to anterior vs. posterior. I had posterior - the lady after me was getting anterior. I asked the doc why and his answer was with the condition my hip was in, he needed room to work. Surgeon is a professor at a teaching hospital in stl.
I am eight days postoperative. Hard to sit without leaning to the good side.

I actually did have to completely relearn to walk in the months before and after my THR. I'd been nonambulatory for some time and lost the mind-body connection for that. It's really not as dire as it might sound or as dramatic as Hollywood likes to portray it to be. It is, however, very different than recovering from hip replacement surgery.

I had so much pain and walked with a limp 4 months leading up to my surgery. Now, I am only dealing with the surgery pain. All the other pain running down my leg is completely gone. My PT says to focus on walking without a limp and don't give up the crutch until I can do this.

pjm My OS says the same thing about not giving up the cane until I can walk without a limp. I do walk around the house, though, with out the cane. How can we try to walk normally, if we do not take the risk to shed the cane. My physical therapist says I do not need the cane. I don't know...I wish I showed the doc. my really 'good walking' I was tired and it was a short walk when I demonstrated for him. It usually takes me a little bit to get going when going from sitting to standing. And I am farther along than you :snork:

Maybe it just takes some of us longer than others. A friend of ours here had the same problem as you and he was told to go back on his crutches until he could walk without the waddle. Maybe someone here can help with this.
