What is clams exercise?I have decided to give up clams completely as it seems to aggravate things.

United StatesI'm pretty certain it's MP.The burning sensation was not there before the surgery so the nerve could definitely have been injured although the pain has been down the center of my thigh.
I am also certain that you have piriformis syndrome there. It sounds typical.A different type of pain circles around my hip with external rotation.
It's inevitable to have that numbness as a sensory nerve gets cut in the initial incision and very few manage to heal. It's not a sign of anything wrong. The skin to the left of the incision (my left) is still numb
Jolly good! Clams do make piriformis worse.I have decided to give up clams completely as it seems to aggravate things

United StatesI never knew that. My surgeon (at the Hospital for Special Surgery, in New York City) never mentioned it and I know I put down on my paperwork when I first consulted with him that I was taking the occasional (meaning several days a week) Advil. I continued to take Advil until the time period before surgery (I think it was two weeks or maybe only one week? I don't remember.....) when I had to discontinue it.That's right - it suppresses the development of new bone cells which I why you will never see me advise it's use before 10 weeks at the earliest. In fact, the use of ibuprofen is a treatment for bone overgrowth known as Heterotopic ossification.
