I do in fact believe I have alot to offer but sometimes I'm at a loss for words I just don't know what to say, by no means do I think. I have all the answers but I want to help in my own way however its hard when i do reach out and it falls on deaf ears .

Hey there Rich, missed you :)

You don't have a problem with words, at least not on the forum, you are very supportive! That's what I mentioned before about mentoring a newbie... You have heaps to offer Rich... Come visit my thread anytime.

Just because someone doesn't respond to your post does not mean your comments go unread nor does it mean your words don't hellp.

Rich, you have to get to the point where you are doing this for the right reasons. The purpose is not to have feedback....it's to post encouragement and helpful comments. You do have a lot to offer. Just give.....with no expectations! Then when someone does choose to respond and let you know they have touched them, it's especially sweet!

Never once did I say I had/have expectations, what I did say was it would nice to be noticed for what I did say once in a while, that's all I'm saying ,more often then not I always get to my point, I can see why you would say to not have expectations, maybe thats what it sounds like however that's NOT MY INTENT.

I (and the other members) notice what you say all the time Rich and love what you say, so don't worry, just keep plugging away visiting other peoples threads and posting a few encouraging words. See this is what this type of forum is all about - the members supporting each other... And you do that Rich :)

Hey Rich - happy Friday (well at least it's here for me now)!

Hope all is well with you. Weather here is gloreous and weekend is set to bring sunshine as well. :yes 4:

Sadly not in this part of the world.. Bitterly cold and raining... Brrrrrr... We are in for a very chilly weekend - what about your weather Rich?

The weather here tomorrow is going to be awesome - sunny and about 74 degrees low humidity, I hate the humidity its brutal, its like the wind chill in the winter it gets you every time, right to the bone. !!

I hate the cold, just turned the central heating on and it said.... Defrosting !

Now, that is cold - yuck

I always hated the cold ESPECIALLY before I had surgery because the cold weather would do. Number on my hip, the arthritis was awful I was in so much pain all the time life was miserable, there were days I could barely walk, I Kidd you not..

Yes, I believe it Rich, actually if you read through other members threads you will read that we all suffer with the extremes of weather, cold and humidity.. Have a look around :)

Hey Rich,

We made it past 6 weeks!!

Let's see. . .I'm finally walking around the house and yard without a cane. Sleeping is much better. Still quite a few aches in both legs and still taking a few vicodin per day. And still walking at least 2 to 4 blocks a day.

How are you doing? Do you have aches? I wonder if you know of any gentle stretching exercises??

As a matter of fact I can't feel a thing right now I'm having a few cocktails, and they are awfully yummy, but all kidding aside I overdid it yet again today shopping with my uncle and I thought it sounded like a good idea to have a few. ! ! Am I ever going to cross the line into I'm free to do what I want....

Eventually Rich, but patience is the key, it is only 6 weeks and it is very major surgery... Don't want you to suffer any set backs - patience buddy... I am at 6 months and still practicing patience xx

Rich, Remember as Sandy said, "this surgrey is ruff." it takes time for all the muscles and tendons calm down from the operation. remember the hip didn't get that way in a day so its going to take a while to get well. thank goodness it does heal faster that it took to get messed up. I find that every time I come to the site i try to find someone i have never met and send then a "Hi" or welcome to the site. I sometimes think I get more out of it than they. do hang in there. I can tell you are getting better so please continue on that road. Stay safe and God Bless you for taking time to be in the Armed forces so I can enjoy the freedom I have. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

What i can't figure out is you can feel so good one day and you take advantage of it and live your life then of course I never realize it that I overdue It and pay the price the next day , I have no choice but to sit In my recliner because I'm that sore yet I'm 6 weeks post op ,its strange how the body operates, one minute feel like a million bucks and you decide to enjoy yourself and ultimately you end up taking two steps back, anyway my day will come ...I'd really like to know when that at is, can anyone tell me.

Hey Rich,

There are several posters currently on this forum that are wondering when they'll be able to live their lives again. And they're months ahead of you and me.

My doctor told me, and I'm now realizing that he is right, that it's better to do a couple of short sessions of exercise a day rather than one long session. I overdid my walk on Friday and had to take Saturday off. But I still did what I could around the house. And then today, Sunday, I went for a much shorter walk. One step forward, but only half a step back.

Wise words, Sally!!! It is a balance of activity and rest and sometimes it can be pretty difficult to find the perfect amount of each.

[Bonesmart.org] I am so sore but grateful I had the surgery
That's why we call recovery a real roller coaster ride!!

What I did was plan a day of activity followed by a day with nothing to do. Rest built into my schedule guaranteed I took things slow.

Please don't worry Rich. This is all very temporary. A bit more patience for a lifetime of living pain free!
