Revision THR hip replacement gone bad<

@zinnia, cannot believe how far you have come over the past month! I got tired after reading your posts. Sorry hubby is sick. It is good you are in a position to help him. Your pt seems to be progressing very nicely.

I hope you do not get over tired this weekend.

Oh, it's my sweethearts @Mojo333 and SaraK. . .love hearing from you both. Weary is the word for sure. When it hits it hurts my heart because I don't want to feel weary and yet it has to be listened to. For instance, it is time to get my lover some lunch and I just don't feel like I can get up out this chair. But I will. It was scrambled eggs and ham this am with soft, gummy bread. Probably soup for lunch and more bread and butter. Not hard to do. The doors are open so the dog can go in and out without help. So that helps. But right in this moment I do feel the weariness you speak of Mojo. HELP!

I guess that's why my PT is having me do so many balancing exercises @SaraK. He added another Thursday. I'm glad you're back because you always have these positive remarks. There is always something you home in on that makes me feel, Oh, yeah, that's it. My PT sounds a bit like mine. This is a different group than I've worked with before. My program is my program, not a cookie cutter program that everyone goes through. Of course, we all do some of the same exercises but we do them with specific stretching along the way and in a particular fashion if that makes sense.

Okay, now the time has come. I have to get up and take care of my poor baby who can barely speak. He is suffering, poor Dear. Off I go.

Love and hugs to you all. You help so much and so many. Amazing. You're amazing! :yes!:

@zinnia - At this point, I'm never far. I often read without commenting - especially if so many others have already expressed the same words or sentiment that I would (and many times much more eloquently than I would). You are an inspiration and a true example of grace - I aspire to be more like you (but I usually get in my own way on that score)!

HI Zinnia:loll:I've Gone missing on the forum for awhile and been back a few days. Read all your progress and so happy to hear your getting back to business, out and about enjoying the freedom , driving again .
Every day new progress like baby steps as we move on and upward!:yahoo:

I hope that your husband is soon on the mend @zinnia.
Been meaning to say that I love your name. Zinnia’s are one of my favourite flowers, so cheerful. My friends youngest is also called Zinnia

I love the smell of fresh dirt. It makes me smile. Digging in the dirt would be great. We might need some help getting up:giggle:
I have "responsibilities" all day tomorrow and a much dreaded formal function tomorrow night, but I shall not waste my Sunday inside. I will dig in the dirt.

All things with which we deal, preach to us. What is a farm but a mute gospel? Emerson

ALL things with which we deal, dear Zinnia, even adversity...preach to us.
We are stronger than we know.
Wishing you strength.

Hi Zinnia, You sound tired!
I'm sorry hubby is sick and it seems caring for him is depleting you a bit.
Hope you and hubby can sneak in some naps together this weekend. Healing naps for you both.
Wishing you a peaceful relaxing weekend.
Big hugs to you!
@zinnia

You are so perspective, @Layla. I am "weary"; I think it's all getting to me. Husband is getting better but he was/is very sick. The blood work came back and thankfully it's not strep or the flu or pneumonia. But it is a vary bad bronchial infection. He is on antibiotics and something for the throat. He had an awfully painful headache that has let go of him now. Now the problem will be to hold him back instead of starting to do all kinds of stuff.

The dinner has been rescheduled for next Friday. Thank goodness.

I love the zinnias too @Jackie222; the colors, different varieties. And you're right, "cheerful"! I save the seeds from mine in the summer and then spread them around everywhere I a bare sunny spot. Say Hi to you friend's daughter. She has a special name. How old is she? I've never run across anyone named Zinnia. How lovely.

Oh, @Mojo333, you have such a thoughtful heart. I love the Emerson quote and that is how I feel about it. The earth, the outside world is my church and my scripture. I can't get down on my hands and knees yet. I may have to sit in my garden seats; I have two to choose from. But I'll get down there somehow. I trimmed some roses yesterday and have been spreading some fertilizer around too. A little every day. Cloudy and chilly today again. But my daffodils are ready to burst. You can see them deciding exacting when that will be. Get those hands in the dirt this weekend. I used to live in Georgia. I had a huge garden there because we lived on a farm (no animals, just a wayward dog) when my kids were small.

My strength is in there somewhere; it will make itself known soon enough. Meanwhile, my walking skills are slowly but surely improving. I am doing more of that around the house. Have a fun time in the dirt. Lucky duck, you.:heehee:

Well, it's nice to see you back @Hippielife. So you had your revision about a year ago and doing well now? As you may have read this is my 2nd on the same hip and I think I am doing well. It's been a row to hoe but I'm almost ready to plant this thing. Sounds like you are doing swimmingly. Tell me something about it all. It's a trip, isn't it.

Keep the messages coming. Always happy to meet someone with a different experience and amazing resilience.

Zinnia is 16 and a lovely girl, just like her name
Glad that your husband is on the mend.

Gardens are the givers of peace and help heal troubled minds. Apart from when the weeds take over!!! I’ve been doing battle with wild garlic for many years :loll:

Jealous of you pruning roses @zinnia. We have snow flurries today. I’m hopeful to get mine pruned in the next few weeks if temperatures and hip comply.

There is something healing about working outside. I think if I take it slow I will be able to do some planting this year, but we don’t put much in the ground before May.

Hope you and husband have a quiet, healing weekend.

Wild garlic is a real pain and I have the same problem over here too @Jackie222. Are you ever able to get ride of it. It seems to be lighter this year. Maybe because we had such a violent winter. But I'm not sure that would make a bit of difference.

I've always wanted an English garden but I'm leaning more to the Prairie garden now. I'm falling in love with some of the more delicate and beautifully colored grasses. Makes more sense for our weather. Ordered some seeds for the Monarch butterfly too. Those beauties are very few and far between.

I am laying down now. My daughter sent me a new book which I will start and maybe even fall asleep.

Have a nice finish to your weekend.

Well before I take a nap @MammaT, I have to say that in terms of zones, you will probably catch up with me by May. We can plant here in mid April and February is the month for roses here. Although the group who does our hard did some major pruning and cut my climbing roses way back about a month ago and the cold bit them pretty hard but they are okay. I pruned some shrub roses into a shape I like. The climbing roses just need to be thinned out.

How are you coming. How's the pain? And the meals? I need to fly back to your site in a bit to see what is going on. Have a restful end of the weekend. How is your neighbor friends doing?:ok:

It is definitely getting less every year but I have to face facts that I’m going to have to dig some lovely shrubs up to get rid of more of it.

I supervised hubby planting some bare root perennials before my op which I’m hoping will be lovely in the summer. Really enjoying seeing all the spring bulbs coming up.

Enjoy your book

My daffodils popped today. We've had to fence in the border garden because my dog loves to get in there and take her naps. I hate that you will be digging up shrubs to get rid of the pesky garlic @Jackie222. Maybe if you dig them up while it is still dormant they will come back when you replace them. We moved a huge gardenia and two azaleas and they all came back. Good luck with that. I'm still in awe over your recovery.

Full day today. Painting group this morning. Sat and worked on an oil pastel I am doing for 2 hours then went to the grocery store. Home to fed the pup and put some clothes on to dry. Set up for dinner now soon. I should ice the hip as it is acting sore today.

Walking more with assistance but it is stiff legged. Trying hard to do heel/toe, heel/toe but it generally doesn't work. Balance is better though and I'm not really limping. When I do I stop and resort to the rolator walker or the cane. I like to use the rolator because I can carry stuff around in the basket and on the seat. Even started walking a bit outside as I do more in the garden. But not much. The question is or will be, when do I have the knee done? I want to put it off as long as I can, hopefully until the fall or late summer at least. Will take it up with the OS in early March. So far I can manage with the brace on.

Recovery has come to the boring stage. Little things happen but they aren't really enough to mention.

Daffodils.....lucky you!
What is the painting group, Zinnia? Have you heard of the Paint and Sip
type painting places where you go with a group (girlfriends) and you all paint the same picture on canvas,
led by an instructor....step by step? I want to try it sometime. Sounds like fun to me.
My mom has to have her knee done just like you, but a second hip also. You're a step ahead of her.
Keep up the hard work....you'll get there. Hugs to you! :loveshwr:
@zinnia

Cheerful update @zinnia. Jealous of those flowers. You say that recovery is at boring stage and little things happen, but it has been all of the little things the past couple of months that has you going out painting and working in yard and taking trips. You have come so very far.

Hope the knee holds out for you. Is it giving you any of the trouble you have with some of walking?

Lifting them is worth a try. If the weather is ok I’m this years attack on the garlic at the weekend, I’ll let you know how it goes!
