THR Hip Recovery

@DancerHips
Lol! You brightened my day, thank you! I certainly don’t feel like it. I credit my progress to my incredible surgeon and SuperPath. Also want to comment here for anyone who’s reading, from what I’ve read on here, seems like most suffered much longer than I did before surgery. I never had an issue until last summer. So my pain/limping only lasted a little less than a year.

@Layla

Thank you! It just dawned on me that it had been 3 months. Everything is going good, most of the time I forget I even had i5 done!

Hope you have a great summer!

I had my THR in March and I've been experiencing major GI issues. It's affecting my daily activities. I tested positive for cdiff after taking amoxicillin for dental work back in September. I no longer have those symptoms but something similar (it's not cdiff). GI doctor wants to do a CT scan on my stomach. My sister told me 2 of her friends had joint replacements and had issues similar to the ones I'm having.
Any thoughts or comments?

Antibiotics can be tricky for many and can cause several issues. In some cases taking antibiotics can kill all the good bacteria in the stomach. Then yeast takes over the system causing lots of the issues your having.
I take antibiotics for dental has been a terrible issue until I was also given A script for Diflucan . It’s a RX taken with the first antibiotic pill which prevents all the yeast from causing the issues . Eating yogurt helps keep the good bacteria balanced.

I am sorry you are having stomach problems hopefully, you'll feel better really soon.

Hello @Teresa17,
You'll notice that I have merged your two threads together as it's best if members in recovery only have one thread. We find it much easier for everyone.
This is because:
  • That way, you have all your information in one place. This makes it easier for others to go back and review your history before providing advice.
  • If you start new threads, you miss the posts and advice others have left for you in the old threads, and some information may be unnecessarily repeated
  • Having only one thread will act as a diary of your progress that you can look back on.

Please keep all your questions and updates on this thread. We won't miss your new question as, between us, the staff read all new posts each day.
If you need an urgent response to a question, tag a member of staff.
Tagging other members and answering tags

If you prefer a different thread title, just post what you want and we'll get it changed for you.

Here are the instructions on finding your thread, How can I find my threads and posts?

A helpful hint - Many members have found it useful to bookmark their thread so they don't lose it.

Hi Teresa, It’s nice to hear from you, but I’m sorry it’s under these circumstances. While I don’t have anything to offer, I hope you get to the origin of the pain soon and a solution to resolve it. Please stay in touch and let us know how you’re doing.

Hello and Welcome!
Let’s tag @Teresa17 to make sure she sees your message to her.
I noticed you don’t have a thread of your own and would like to encourage you to start one and tell us a little about yourself / situation so we can offer you support. Please join us!

Thanks everyone for the support! My doctor is confused about what is going on. I'll keep you updated as I progress through testing. Hip is doing great!!
