Good Morning
@Snoopy55
I just reread your thread. Since your first post on April 4th you’ve been in varying degrees of discomfort or pain. It seems you came here in a state of pain from overdoing it with the PT. Your PT was excessive with the stair stepping, the incline and lengthy session on the treadmill early on. Add to that the trip to Portugal with all of the physical activity it involved and it‘s landed you in the ODIC (Over Did It Club) not for a day, or week, but weeks. Josephine, BoneSmarts Nurse Emeritus who brought 50+ yrs of experience / wisdom to the forum, used to say that a single day of overactivity, can set you back for weeks.
My heart goes out to you as you were only doing what you were instructed to do, trusting that it was acceptable and would bring you the result you’re hoping for. Sadly, I think the trip compounded all. I do realize you understand that this is going to take longer than you originally anticipated, but you want to do it right, without floating in and out of the ODIC. If I was in your position, I’d put the idea of PT out of my mind until I was pretty much pain free for several weeks, then if you feel you really need it, proceed slowly with caution. The problem is it usually doesn’t hurt until we stop. So you really need to thoughtfully mete out all daily activity and any PT you decide to partake in at a later date.
I hope the OTC meds and dosing schedule, Jaycey, suggested works for you and your able to get the rest you need to heal properly without incident. We’re rooting for you and we’re here for support and encouragement. You’ve certainly been gracious in listening to the advice you’re receiving here. I wish you comfort, a peaceful day and relaxing weekend.
