Bilateral THR Grateful Double Hippy

True fact! What is the expression? “Physician heal thyself.” Glad it didn’t turn out any worse. You, sarak, and berber7227 are quite the trio for this old woman to watch!

Not that brave to be in that category. No ma'am. Not a daredevil. Just very careless and since 6'3 240lb BIL was on back became unbalanced on turn.
I was a super careful weenie for first 6 months...
Is a reminder that anything could happen and not worth having to redo these precious hips over a joyride.
Learned my lesson...and Oweeee, it hurts.
I'll be keeping that quote in mind instead of
Do as I say, not as I do!

Ouchie wa-wa.....Wild Woman
Thankful you weren't seriously injured
Someone was watching over you :angel:
It looks like it hurts....calling for some ice and rest, you know the drill.
Wishing you a great day, Mojo!
@Mojo333

@Mojo333 Happy New Year! Crazy busy in our house, at least I am. I am now referred to as Nursey-Doug. Laundry is clean, house is clean and Xmas deco is put away.

How are you doing? How was your first holiday season as a double-hippy?

Ttyl, doug

My favorite Emerson quote....

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have fun doing fancy shmancy with bro tonite! :cheers:
@Mojo333

Oh ouch that looks sore :unsure: Glad hips and Mojo are okay though!

Oh my stars, @MyAussieGirl . The incident happened Christmas Eve, and I didn't mention it but to a few folks as did not want to be scolded all Christmas day. I soldiered through...
But with all the grand nieces and nephews there we write our names with sharpy on red solo cups and I wrote Evil Kenevil (not sure on spelling either) on mine. No one knew why :snork:
What a coincidence:wink:

@Gretel
I was more worried about my dog when it first happened than my hips...which made BIL mad. Plus I bruised his ribs...but he was so worried about me he didn't tell me until I noticed him grab his side the day after when I made him laugh.
Could've been way worse...learned my lesson!

@Layla Brother and family were in Hilton Head visiting with mom and didn't get to town until late, so I got to dodge dinner last night.
He is very successful so I think he feels the need to impress/spoil us some when he comes.
I'd rather just sit around on the porch and visit with him, but he means well.
After business pickups for food bank this morning, we will head out to sister's to visit with him.
Hoping he's too tired from all the traveling to have big plans!

I have a brother like that- I just let him spoil me. Figured out he just truly wants to share what he has been given. Enjoy the family time.

@Mojo333 wow a buisy week. A crash landing before the family reunion. That unusual happens during the reunion with us. You know it’s a Hold my beer and watch this moment. Or Rednecks in action. My family is all gone so it’s all in laws.except for our kids. I try to keep a low profile and avoid as much as possible. I’m glad you and Mojo are ok and survived the events.

We made it ! 2018 will be a Happy New Year.
No firework mishaps and I was home and in bed by 10 pm as temperature was dropping and it began to sleet.
Had great time with brother and his family and all the rest.
I begin this year with a major theme: GRATITUDE.
Everyday life's annoyances can pull us away from enjoying the pearls we've been given...I am truly blessed and will try to always be grateful for all I have, instead of dwelling on the things I wish were different.
Hope all my friends on this forum have a safe and happy Holiday.

Hoppin' John today MammaT!
None of the rest of the goodies but will be warm and delicious.
Little over a month and you will join the double hippy club.:yes!:

Yes I will @Mojo333. I was in bed early and got a great nights sleep to bring in new year. Going to putter around house, watch football, ride bike, and eat pork and sauerkraut. Looking forward to double hippie!

I’m just now reading about your mishap on the ATV @Mojo333 . Thankfully you were not hurt other than some good bruising. Hopefully a lesson learned for many. I wonder if dog will want to ride on atv again?

I absolutely LOVE what you said above about life’s annoyances as it is so true. We do need to think more about the pearls and blessings we have been given. Thank you for sharing that thought. You should make a sign with that statement and hang it at the food pantry where it is very visible. Those coming there may at times need to be reminded of are truly blessed they are because of all the hard work you do seeing that they have food.

Happy New Year and I want to wish you a happy, healthy 2018!
