Nature always soothes and revives me. So grateful this Christmas for my journey to health and happiness.
Life's stresses can take us away, and nature's beauty can bring us back.
Something as simple as a bird's song.
The poem I memorized in grade school comes back to me this Christmas. It's Wood Song by Sara Teasdale.
I heard a wood thrush in the dusk
Twirl three notes and make a star -
My heart that walked with bitterness
Came back from very far.
Three shining notes were all he had
And yet they made a starry call -
I caught life back against my breast
And kissed it, scars and all.
Kiss your scars my BS pals...find "your" wood song and be happy.
