and the wonderful world of recovery!!!
Sitting up, bending knee, having a snack------WOW!!! Things are better already and you've hardly started. Keep up the good work----follow that mantra.

Take care and keep us posted. We care. [Bonesmart.org] Good grief, it's Gort!!

Just keep asking for the pain meds when you need them and you will be fine. :egypdance: :happydance:
One day at a time, small steps.
You have had the op so now every day is a step closer to that pain free knee.
Hope you are being looked after well. Have you got a single room or are you on a ward?
Keep smiling, you can do this,
Hugs and that hand to squeeze,
Love Toothfairy x :console2:

Well done Alison and a BIG welcome to Gort. I wish you well on your journey to a pain free life (maybe not at this minute) but soon. One week to go for me. Getting a little anxious now. Hope it's a good day for you today. Take care, you're doing great. Jenny :yay:

Hooray.....it's over! Aren't you so glad you no longer have to worry about the surgery?? Don't worry.....tomorrow begins the healing and it will get better every single day after that! You're doing great so far.....keep up the good work!

Congratulations for coming through with flying colors!
Now take it easy and be sure to rest it in between all of that bending and marveling.

Wonderful!!! You're on your way!! You sound just fine, and now recovery has begun. Bravo!!

Ooooooh bad night, pain gradually increased to unbearable by this morning, despite a couple of doses of orimorph in the night! :beg: Cried this morning, they gave me cocodamol, ibuprofen & tramadol this morning, I'm still waiting for it all to kick in, gone from unbearable to just bearable, still tearful though... Gort not happy at the moment! :sorry:

You should be on a schedule of pain relief, not in a position where you have to ask or have to wait until the pain is bad. This should be set up today so that this build-up of pain does not happen; it may well be though that you, or one of your nearest and dearest, has to jump up and down to make this happen.

Otherwise you will not say "Klaatu barada nikto"* and the world will come to an end.

*(just had to get that in somehow...)

How miserable for you Alison. :boohoo:
I hope they get on top of the pain control very soon.
Keep shouting if they are not getting it sorted.
Sending you a big hug and a bucket load of sympathy,
Toothfairy x :console2:

Hi, when everything starts wearing off and the pains start wth a bang you really do need your meds on time and regulary. Once you get into a routine it will start to get better. I hope you are feeling better today andmanaged to get some sleep. You need that rest as well. Will await your updates to see how you are doing. Nice to be on this side tho isnt it and the waiting and worrying about the op is over. Now is the time for road to recovery for your new knee and goodbye to that awful arthritic pain. Take Care

Thanks for your advices, I think they initially mirrored the medication I was already on, the staff nurse said they would review my meds as I'd had a really bad night & consulted the pharmacist, who advised that GP shouldn't prescribe tramadol & cocodamol together as they are one in he same thing & can cancel each other out? (which I recon happened) now they've ditched the ocodail, doubled the tramadol strength & put me on paracetamol & ibuprofen   Tired now, may have a snooze x x

Glad they have sorted your meds out. Now sleep sleep sleep. And more sleep.

Hey Alison, so pleaded you and Gort the Great are on the other side. Yikes :yikes: To the early lack of meds, hopefully you are on track now, keep your eye on the clock though so you know when u ready. Tramadol should do the trick and they make u nice and .

Well done and take care and now it's mantra time !

Big hugs, love Fernie x :friends:

All hail Gort the Great and Shiny! Love your sense of humor Alison; sorry I didn't see your posts earlier. (Thank you Elisea1 for pointing me this way!)

I agree with everyone else about getting the pain meds on a schedule and it sounds like they're doing that for you. Get lots of rest so Gort can settle in. Looking forward to following your progress! Take care.

Hi Alison, I am pleased that they seem to be sorting out your meds. I hope things will get better and better now.
Have you been up yet?
Take care and look after little Gort.
Love and hugs, Toothfairy x :console2:  :scare:
