Congratulations on the weight loss! I have lost my appetite, too. Things have a weird metal-type taste. I never linked that to the gabapentin! I'm 40 pounds overweight, so I'll take it.

I can't imagine doing a bike yet, and I'm right behind you at two weeks! I don't have one, but am thinking it might be a good purchase ? What kind do you have? I love cycling but doubt if I risk a crash with my new knees anytime in the foreseeable future!

You sound SO good and positive, it's a joy to read your posts.

Day 23:

Shelia, I got my reclining bike at Amazon. It was only $150.00. Brand - Exerpeutic. It was a challenge to assemble as it came with no instructions - they were missing from the box. The box was ripped open and they must have fallen out. Thankfully all the parts were there. My husband helped me put it together in 2 hours. I think it would have taken about an hour with instructions. Once together, the bike is nice and sturdy and has a readout screen. I'm going to sell or donate it when I'm done with it. I don't have a regular bike to ride around the neighborhood on. I put the bike in the living room where I can watch TV while riding.

I was 40 pounds overweight too, but since I've lost 7-1/2 pounds now I guess I'm 32-1/2 pounds overweight. I hope I lose from the second surgery too - a great kickstart to lose the rest. The only food that appeals to me is hamburgers, poached eggs, toast and ice cream. Appetite is coming back bit by bit but still get full quickly.

My new knee woke me up early this morning aching. Not too bad, but enough to wake up. That hasn't happened since the first week I think. No reason for it because I didn't do anything unusual yesterday.

One other thing that I noticed this morning - the heat in my new knee is just about gone. I can barely feel the difference. Most of the glue is gone too. My incision is going to be just about invisible.

I feel like doing something interesting today.

I'm all set up with my appointments for my next surgery on September 26. I just have to get a new referral - that's an adventure in itself.

Boy you are one brave granny! all the best to #2
I could not even imagine going thru this again so soon. But you will rock it!!

Fla granny Iam there with you had my first 8/22 second one scheduled 11/29 . I also want to get it over and get on with my life tired of living my life around what my knees could tolerate. I will be cheering for you and following you as you progress thru your second one.

Don't feel so brave. :)

Tnlady, good luck also with your second. Thanks for the cheering.

I DID IT! Got full rotation on bike, backwards. Did it 3 times and then stopped because the third time hurt a bit. I've been trying every day for the last week and finally success. I went to the gym and did a light upper body workout. Then went for lunch. Home now and very tired. Think I'll take a nap. But very pleased today.:yay:

Yay!! Well done. :yes!: :happydance: :yay:
It won't be long before you can do a full rotation going forwards as well.

I let out sort of a squeal. Yes I did. It seems like the ROM comes so slow, but not really. Just seems that way.

That's great :happydance:

That first rotation feels aamazing right???

It's funny, there's a point right at the edge where you're wondering "Will it go all the way? If it does is it going to be painful?" Then all of a sudden you do it. Of course, I was probably physically able to do it all along but with a lot of pain. The pain always wins out.

Yay!! Yes, you are amazing!!
